Thanks to FANGORIA (and just a tiny bit to me), the short film continues to have a champion. And now, we're going to step it up and show them on the big screen…yes you read that correctly. Some of Fango’s favorite shorts are going to run in front of the features at FANGORIA's MIDNITE MADNESS - our return to the world of midnight horror movies at the The Fine Arts Theatre, 8556 Wilshire Blvd. in none other than Beverly hills! (Phone: (310) 360-0455, admission is only $8 and are available online as well as the box office). Of course, I am jumping out of my skin (well, almost jumping) about this. How long has it been since short films had their chance of being exposed to a real live audience in the theater (albeit to wackos like us who love horror)? We are making great strides, people.
I may have the best job on the planet. I can’t be sure, because I’ve only had one other job to which I can compare it to. And THAT job always sounds awesome to other people - I spent years running production and programming for two major cable networks only to find it lonely, cold, and a daily horror show at “the top“, so much so that I ran screaming out of there on my own initiative.
