Triple A/Americana Artists Fair Well At Grammys

Grammy voters obviously have good taste, because, once again, many artists that triple A and Americana radio champion and support were honored at the 51st annual Grammy Awards Sunday night (Feb. 8).

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss were the big winners taking home five trophies, including album of the year and contemporary folk/Americana album of the year for "Raising Sand" as well as record of the year for "Please Read the Letter."

Coldplay also fared well with three awards, including rock album of the year for "Viva La Vida" and song of the year for the title track.

John Mayer and Adele each got two nods, while several other artists also received a Grammy, including Bela Fleck & The Flecktones, Beausoliel, Duffy, Eagles, Peter Gabriel, Dr. John, B.B. King, Kings of Leon, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Radiohead, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder and Bruce Springsteen.
