Jameson New Dave FM PD
In the chair on Feb. 17
By Kevin Carter and John Schoenberger

Programmer/consultant Scott Jameson is climbing back into the day-to-day radio saddle as the newly named PD of CBS triple A WZGC (92.9 Dave FM)/Atlanta. The gig has been open since Mike Wheeler recently left. Jameson, who currently works for Jacobs Media, is best known for his 15-year stint at Clear Channel/Indianapolis as FM ops manager for WFBQ and WRZX before leaving in late 2007. His previous PD stints include KAZY/Denver and KYYS/Kansas City.

In addition to the station programming music, Dave FM is also the official FM station for the Atlanta Falcons.

"There's a huge programming opportunity at Dave FM to create a stronger, more emotional connection with the listener, in turn developing a more passionate, loyal audience," Jameson tells R&R. "I'm also excited to help leverage the brand of an NFL franchise on an FM music station. It can be a lot of fun when you apply a music spin. I'm also thrilled to be able to get back to the day-to-day operation of a radio station, be creative, think competitively and engage the staff."

CBS Radio senior VP and Atlanta market manager Rick Caffey says, "Today's successful program director is really more of a creative content director, one who drives the overall musical and lifestyle content of the radio station -- on-air, online, and on-site. Now is the time for Dave FM to fulfill its promise of being one of the premier radio stations in Atlanta. Scott's experience, talent and energy are a critical piece to that journey."

Jameson went on to thank Fred Jacobs "for the opportunity and the learning experience" and CBS Radio senior VP of programming Greg Strassell and Caffey for the opportunity.
