"New" HALLOWEEN H2 poster bogus

Last Friday I posted a "new poster" from Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN sequel after the man himself posted the image on his MySpace blog. Now Zombie has checked in again, editing the original blog post with the following: "This is not the new poster. Sorry if you all thought it was. The new one sheet is coming soon. As soon as I have it you will see it."

To the left you'll see the brand-new poster for Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN 2. Note that the shortened "H2" moniker has been dropped, so you'll no longer be directed to the HUMMER website while doing a Google search for the film.

After the jump you can get a better look at the new poster, which touts The Shape's return to theatres on August 28th, 2009. The artwork was first spotted this afternoon at the usual location - Rob Zombie's MySpace page.

The Weinstein Company has revealed the "official" synopsis for their Dimension release of Rob Zombie's H2.

It's that time of year again, and Michael Myers has returned home to sleepy Haddonfield, Illinois to take care of some unfinished family business. Unleashing a trail of terror that only horror master Rob Zombie can, Myers will stop at nothing to bring closure to the secrets of his twisted past. But the town’s got an unlikely new hero, if they can only stay alive long enough to stop the unstoppable.

The missing horror host from Haddonfield was recently spotting tearing it up south of the border (with some young ladies, no less), and today another pic has surfaced.

Rob Zombie jumped on MySpace again with another look a ? as Uncle Seymour Coffins (add him on MySpace), and it looks like the man never breaks character, even on a Mexican adventure. Hopefully he didn't catch the "Swine Flu" down there.

"I've been super busy lately editing H2 so I haven't been able to post anything new, but here's a shot I thought you might dig. It doesn't pay to work the late shift at Haddonfield General." says Zombie.
