Activision Details Guitar Hero Fall Lineup

ctivision just announced the full Guitar Hero product lineup for fall 2009. Three titles were detailed, including one that greatly expands upon what we have come to expect from the Guitar Hero franchise.

DJ Hero, a new concept in the Guitar Hero universe, has us most excited. DJ Hero features music from hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica and dance and utilizes a sleek turntable peripheral that allows the players to put their spin on mixes created exclusively for the game.

Guitar Hero 5 will build upon the groundwork laid by World Tour. Players can now choose what instruments comprise their bands and can drop in or out of songs on the fly.

Band Hero, the franchises first E10+ title, will cater to a new crowd that prefers top-40 hits to heavy metal. The goal is to expand the Guitar Hero audience with Band Hero, encouraging the entire family to take their turn at the drums, guitar, bass and microphone.

“Guitar Hero has made music social again and has become one of the most popular ways to experience music,” said Dan Rosensweig, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Guitar Hero franchise. “Today’s fans enjoy a variety of music and are looking for more ways to engage with their favorite songs, artists and fellow fans.  These games will let them listen, participate and socialize with music in ways they have never been able to before.”

While further details are a bit elusive at the moment, you can bet that checking out these titles is a high priority for us at these years E3.
