Slumdog Millionaire’s Anil Kapoor joins 24 as a series regular in Season Eight. In his first American television role, Kapoor will play a Middle Eastern leader who comes to the U.S. on a peacemaking mission.
COP HOUSE
- Scott Caan gets the lead role in the comedy pilot as a champion marksman who suffered a nervous breakdown after his wife left him for his sister. That’s right, his sister.
- Nick Kroll gets his second FOX show. In this, he plays an overzealous cop with an enormous ego and delusional fantasies.
- Nora Zehetner is the house psychologist, who runs group-therapy sessions.
- Curtiss I’Cook is an intense cop prone to random, violent outbursts.
MASTERWORK
- Australian Matt Passmore takes the lead in the drama pilot as an FBI agent who specializes in finding stolen art from international thieves.
- Scott Porter will play his sidekick, another FBI agent who helps him track down the goods. (Go Panthers!)
- Brit Natalie Dormer is an MI-5 agent who does the same thing, for a different country. Needless to say, their paths cross!
- Another Brit, Tom Ellis, plays Dormer’s fiance, a special agent at Scotland Yard.
Wanda Sykes lets bygones be bygones (Ed. - Aww, we loved Wanda at Large!), as she returns to do a Saturday late-night show for us this fall.
“Yes, my relationship with FOX hasn’t been the best, but if Rihanna can go back to Chris Brown, I can go back to FOX,” Sykes said. “Oprah tried to talk me out of it, but I think FOX has changed.”
You know she’s funny as well as outspoken about current events, so expect more of that in the one-hour show that will also feature panel guests and Wanda out in the field talking to real people.
BROTHERS
- Mitch Hurwitz can now claim “four-peat,” producing this comedy.
- Don Reo wrote the pilot.
- Former pro football player and current Fox NFL analyst Michael Strahan will star as a retired NFL player who returns to his hometown and starts working to reconnect with his family.
- Daryl “Chill” Mitchell plays Strahan’s brother, confined to a wheelchair from a car accident.
- Colton Dunn will also star.
- Ted Wass will direct the pilot (and yes, he was Blossom’s dad).
COP HOUSE
- He’s back to helm another Fox pilot! Brett Ratner will direct and executive produce the pilot, which also stars our own Buster, Tony Hale.
- Rachael Harris is the lone policewoman in the all-male house, sent for posing nude in Hustler.
- Ajay Naidu is an officer with a drinking problem.
Kanye West was looking forward to watching the upcoming The Cleveland Show, so they hired him!
He’ll be voicing the not-so-famous rapper “Kenny West” alongside the recently Oscar-nominated Taraji P. Henson, who’s also a guest voice. Their episode will air next season, after Cleveland’s premiere this fall.
UPDATE: “Kenny West” is an all-around cool kid and the archenemy of Cleveland Jr. The two will engage in a “rap battle” for the affection of high school hottie “Chanel” (voiced by Henson).
