We can only presume that the story generated renewed interest as panicked readers searched for anything that could shed light on the current swine flu epidemic, but we’d recommend reading our eerie 1998 report “Killer Flu,” in which experts suggest that an outbreak like the one we’re currently struggling to contain was inevitable.
