Battlefield 1943 On XBLA Gets Price

A Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment (DICE) announced today that Battlefield 1943 will be available in June on Xbox Live for $15 (1200 MS Points). The multiplayer-only FPS will also be available for PC in September.

Inspired by the highly praised Battlefield 1942, which was also developed by DICE and published by EA, Battlefield 1943 boasts World War II action with “total destructibility” of environments. "Using the same Frostbite engine that we developed for Battlefield: Bad Company, we are able to take players back to WWII and return to the roots of the Battlefield franchise, but with a new twist - destruction," said Gordon Van Dyke, producer on Battlefield 1943. "We want to offer gamers the most accessible online shooter experience and the best value found in any premium download title with Battlefield 1943."

On the surface, this looks like a deal no FPS fan will want to miss. The Battlefield series offers some of the most thrilling multiplayer experiences to date, and to get a sequel for $15 sounds like a steal.
