Arnold Rutkowski

Tenor. He made his opera debut while still a student of the Academy of Music in Łódź, singing the part of Ferrando in Mozart's "Cosi Fan Tutte" at the Opera Island in Bornholm (Denmark, 2002). He was also invited to take part in many opera festivals, including Sankt Moritz in Switzerland, and Wernigerode in Germany. He started working with the National Opera in 2006, preparing the part of Rodolfo in Puccini's "La Bohème". He later successfully performed this showpiece part at opera houses in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. At present Arnold Rutkowski is a soloist of the Wrocław Opera, and also works with the Mazovian Musical Theatre.

His repertoire includes many leading tenor parts, such as Rodolfo in Puccini's "La Bohème", Duca in "Rigoletto", Alfredo in "La Traviata" and Eduardo in "Un giorno di Regno" by Verdi, Don José in Bizet's "Carmen", Stefan in "The Haunted Manor" and Jontek in "Halka" by Moniuszko, and also Eisenstein and Alfred in Strauss's "Die Fledermaus". He has worked with such great directors as Jonathan Miller and Mariusz Treliński, and with leading Polish conductors. His extensive repertoire also includes lieder and oratorio music. He has appeared at many Polish philharmonics, including those of Silesia, Zabrze, Bydgoszcz and Podlasie.

Arnold Rutkowski is a prize-winner of many major vocal competitions, including the Ada Sari International Vocal Competition in Nowy Sącz, and Klassik-Mania in Vienna. At the Teatr Wielki – Polish National Opera, he debuted in the part of Rodolfo in Puccini's "La Bohème" (2007).
