Mean Machines Sega
When Mean Machines was split in the early 90’s, the Sega offshoot became Mean Machines Sega.
It lacked the official Sega license (to start off with, anyway) but arguably kept more of the original Mean Machines magic than its Nintendo counterpart.
The magazine covered the launch of the Mega CD, the ill-fated 32X and the underrated Sega Saturn. During these years various staff members came and went, and by the end of the 50+ issue run, the format was looking very dated when compared to slick rivals mags.
When the MMS eventually ended it was incorporated into EMAP’s Official Sega Magazine, which in turn became Official Sega Saturn Magazine – edited by Richard Leadbetter.
