DRAFT SEQUENCE OF FUGU GENOME
ASSEMBLY RELEASE 1, 2, 3 and 4

RELEASE 4

The fourth assembly of the Fugu genome consists of 7,000 scaffolds. The individual contigs sizes range from 2-1100Kbp. Nearly half the genome in just 100 scaffolds, 80% of the genome in 300 scaffolds. The scaffold sequences can be searched by using BLAST from here.

RELEASE 3

The third assembly of the Fugu genome consists of 8,023 scaffolds. The individual contigs sizes range from 2-1100Kbp. This covers approximately 95% of the non-repetitive fraction of the genome (with a total size, including repeats is around 365Mbases). An additional 12,356 sequences (1-2Kbp) in this release bring the total number of sequences to 20,379 (329 Mbp). The sequences are known as "MAYFFOLDS" to distinguish from the previous releases. The scaffold sequences can be searched by using BLAST from here.

RELEASE 1

The first draft assembly of the Fugu genome consists of approximately 20,000 contigs, or scaffolds, covering 310 Mbases of unique DNA sequence. We estimate that this covers approximately 90% of the non-repetitive fraction of the genome (which has a total size, including repeats). The scaffold sequences can be searched by using BLAST from here.

RELEASE 2

The second draft assembly consists of 12,403 contigs that range from 2-650Kbp. The draft sequence of Fugu Genome available covers 320 Mbases of DNA sequence. We estimate that this covers approximately 90% of the non-repetitive fraction of the genome (which has a total size, including repeats, of around 365 Mbases).
