Pandemic: 'We're not making Battlefront III'

Studio denies inheriting Star Wars shooter
Pandemic Studios, developer of the original Star Wars: Battlefront games, has denied picking up the third Battlefront instalment from the remnants of troubled TimeSplitters dev Free Radical, which was originally working on the third game.

"As of right now I can say Battlefront III is not currently at Pandemic," a company spokesperson confirmed on its web forums. "While I know the title seems to be up in the air from all the buzz around the web... LucasArts will be the only one knowing where the title is at right now," he or she added.

Free Radical lost its Battlefront III deal with LucasArts last year, and after very public money problems has been acquired and rebranded by German Crysis house Crytek.

It's a shame because FR's version of the game, as you can see by this leaked footage, was looking brilliant. Hopefully the license will now make its way into safe hands.

I have to agree. The LOTR game was abysmal!

I heard a rumour that rebellion, developers of the PSP version had taken it on board.

I heard that too, but I think Rebellion have their hands full with some kind of Alien vs Predator remake

....which is nice :)

I'm sure Battlefront on a Crytek engine would be brilliant too. But seriously, where is Battlefront III now?
