RTÉ 2fm DJ Larry Gogan recently spoke to U2 drummer Larry Mullen in an exclusive interview. Recorded in the Marine Hotel in Sutton, Larry Mullen talks about what it took to get U2 back into a studio again to make the new album, how the music business has changed over the years, how his dad got him into his first band and what music fans can expect of the new show from the biggest live band on the planet.

Biography
Larry started in radio straight from school in the 1960's. He was voted Top DJ in one poll or another for 2 - 3 sucessive years. He broadcast his first radio programme on Radio 2 (which was, of course, later to become RTÉ 2FM), and he's been doing a daily show ever since.
Larry has also presented various TV programmes including "Pickin' The Pops", "Go 2 Show" and "The Golden Hour". Larry lets the music do the talking. That's the reason The Golden Hour is so popular, and once even, won the nominees' award at the Fifth Shanghai Radio Music Festival. RTE have latterly rewarded him by naming a studio after him. "They normally only do it when you're dead", he says with a nervous giggle.
He spun the first disc on Radio 2. "Like Clockwork" by the Boomtown Rats. He's been the master of timing and lord of the links on RTÉ 2FM ever since.
