The lapping of the waves on the dock, the subdued light of the lamps, a revolver pointed at me... How the devil did I get here? I can't even remember how all this started. Less than 24 hours ago I was drowning my thoughts in a bottle of second rate whiskey, bought for few dollars at the bar at the corner of 77th and Park Ave. Then, that call... The Story The '30s. Corruption and decline form the background of New York, a city which has changed beyond recognition because of the Great Depression. Money is scarce, as are justice and integrity. In his small office on Lexington Avenue, ex-policeman and now private detective Jack Del Nero remembers his past in a bottle of whiskey, unaware that the call he is soon to receive will drag him into an intricate spiral of events. The murder of his ex-colleague, Little Emily and the great eclipse are just a few elements of the tortuous path he will need to navigate in his hunt for the cat with the jade eyes.
