The Heaven website is now online and features videos, wallpaper, comic artwork, character bios and everything else you might need to get through those pearly gates.

From what we can tell, there seem to be two main characters: Joshua – an astronaut on a special mission whose ship lands on the shores of Heaven after being damaged by asteroids and Axis – the Barbie doll woman everyone has been wondering about. Axis was actually born with a paralyzing disease that robbed her of the use of her legs. Her faith in Jesus healed her and she lived to a ripe, old age before going to Heaven.

Rounding out the cast are kings, angels, creatures and, of course, Jesus.

The game has six levels all presented in a 360-degree panning 3D world. The in-game graphics shown on the website are quite stunning and as we’ve mentioned previously, there was some top-notch talent involved the game’s development.

The release date is uncertain as a publisher has yet to be found.

Heaven - click to enlargeMove over Myst.  Clanky gears, rusty metal, and grungy worlds are a thing of the past.  Streets of gold, pearly gates and brilliant crystals are what you'll experience in Heaven the game.  This new adventure game goes where no adventure game has dreamed of before - Heaven.  And the scenery is, as one would expect, breathtaking.

Originally conceived in 1997, an entire decade has been devoted to the development of this game which is expected to be completed late this summer.

World renown concept artists Stephan Martiniere – the visual art director at Cyan where he worked on Uru: Ages Beyond Myst, Uru: The Path of the Shell and Myst 5 - and Dylan Cole – who worked on the films Superman Returns, Daredevil and The Chronicles of Riddick -  have brought developers Genesis Works Biblical view of Heaven to reality.  Former employees from Digital Domain – a visual effects company co-founded by director James Cameron and effects whiz Stan Winston - and Marvel comics have also lent their talents and skills to Heaven

Heaven - click to enlargeThe game engine was developed from the ground up.  Using the Bink video compression technology, Genesis Works developed a full 360 degree viewing cube with video inlays and cut-scenes integrated into a fast and seamless experience.  You will also experience 360 degree sound.

Along with what promises to be great game play, the cinematic scenes will alone be worth the experience.  Famed motion capture studio MOCAP (House of Moves) was used to bring life-like motion and animation to the game characters.

There will also be a companion comic book and a full feature website.

Heaven - click to enlargeGenesis Works strongly believes that Heaven will be a game that will put adventure games back on the map and they certainly have collected what has to be the most impressive amount of talent ever assembled to develop an adventure game.

We’ll have more information soon on the storyline, puzzles and game engine so if you still haven’t watched the trailer, then prepare to be blown away by the most amazing trailer you have ever seen for any adventure game and then check back soon as Just Adventure takes you to Heaven.
