Gears of War 2's graphics and engine are nothing next to KZ2's. Yeah the unreal engine was really good and still isn't bad but this engine was built from scratch for over 4 years espescially for this game and does a really good job of utilising the hardware of the PS3. The streets look gritty and the environment looks really hostile and threatening, Gears 2 has everything look like it's coated with olive oil. Not only that but the locust AI will be dumb as shit compared to the AI in this, and the character models are actually in proportion. I'm not saying Gears 2 is shit but it's hard to deny tht KZ2 looks better...and it would look better, there's always gonna be one game which comes out and makes another game look not as good.

the 2005 render does have better animation and little bit better textures, but that was all CGI. the 2007 version is all in-game graphics that's incredibly impressive seeing how amazingly close(graphics, not lighting) they are. you can tell Guerilla definately worked their asses off for this title. since i have the game, i can already tell they did a bit more fix ups with lighting, animations, and detail on the final version which is even better.
