Worker Health and Safety
Health and safety are important for all workers. The Environmental and Occupational Disease Epidemiology program provides information on health risks as well as best practice information and guidance to help New York City businesses and their employees prevent injuries and hazardous exposures.
Both employers and employees can improve workplace health and safety. Most work-related injuries, illness and fatalities are preventable with safe work practices, engineering controls and the proper use of personal protective equipment. Workers should know if they are working with hazardous materials and how to protect themselves. See the links below or check Health Topics A-Z for more information about a particular topic.
