    im a big 360 guy, and i cant stand people *caugh* Misterstatus *caugh* complaining about everything. This game looks amazing, and i really dont want it ported to the 360, it would just ruin the significance... every system needs a good game, and the ps3 just added to the few they have. hopefully this will set new standards and the ps3 will live up to the hype it had before release

    Misterstatus- I'll tell you right now the 360 would not be able to run Killzone 2, period. Get into a 32 player online match of KZ2 with character models that look like they are from a cg cutscene, grenades going off everywhere, particle effects flying around, smoke bellowing, dust blowing, bullets whizzing, turrets bots flying around, lighting that casts shadows on every single player dynamically, lighting the rooms with every single different shot.... ITS NUTS. You can't tell me that the 360 which has roughly 1 TFLOP of total system performance can hang with the PS3 which has 2.18 TFLOPS of total system performance. That is a silly argument. Eventually games were going to start looking better on the PS3, is this a surprise to you? I don't know why it would be, you can go and read both consoles specs anywhere online.

    Killzone 2 is the third best game on the PS3, behind MGS4 and LittleBigPlanet.

    I don't know why GS only gave it a 9, it deserves 9.5. I know many don't like the fact that Killzone dosen't innovate much, but that's why its slogan is "War Perfected", while Halo's was "Combat Evolved". That's the main difference between Killzone and Halo, Halo innovates, Killzone perfects.
    I guess after MGS4 and GTA4, GS's expectations were raised impossibly high. It will take a really substantial game to get a perfect 10 like GTA4 and MGS4.

    Lol. Too funny. And what exactly is this "new way of looking at gaming" that the PS3 has opened up? Sony has introduced the world to shooters? That's a baseless fanboy comment if I've ever heard one. But what do I know, I'm apparently deranged, and sickly no less.

    As for Modbetto, what the heck is a "broadband digital cd"? I think you're saying the 360 is headed for the bargain bin because it doesn't play HD movies, but obviously that's not the case since it continues to outsell the PS3. I realize someone's going to say that comment proves I'm an "xbot", but I don't care. I'm own every game system and I'm not here to promote any of them. I'm just a gamer who thinks Killzone 2 is a fun but otherwise typical and seriously unoriginal shooter. Shoot me (pun intended).

    I am a 360 owner and have been very pleased with the range of games on the system (I'm a huge gears fan). I have never really been one to look over the fence with jealous green eyes...that sort of system 'covetness' has never really bothered me.

    I have owned previous playstations, but not a ps3.

    However, you'd have to be dumb in the head and blind as a bat not to see that Killzone 2 looks absolutely incredible!!

    Good for Sony, there's nothing wrong with a bit of competition between systems...it pushes devs to work harder and make better games for all of us.

    All m$ will do is either pay over the odds for rights to a game, or pay lots of money to get devs in to equal or better what's on other systems.....it's just business to them....but better for everybody as we get games that get better and better.

    As regards the 360's life being 'nearly over'...I don't think so! Does m$ appear to be the type of company that loses money? I think not! They're not going to lose a massive installed userbase. And blue-ray may be much better than DVD, but it is all going to be digital downloads in the near future...m$ know it and are paving the way in this field, which is streets ahead of the competition thanks to LIVE.

    This game is great! solid review! It looks great,plays great, and is very exciting and fast paced. I also love the musical score (though nowhere near halo's). The environments are destructable and the AI is smart. i do not like having to bring the knife out separately though i wish i could assign it to my melee but i have to admit, it makes it all the more realistic. The movement animations are also great. this game is just so great. In terms of story i'd say it performs just sub-par to gears of war two or on par with gears of war.

    How did the topic get from how good or bad this game is to which console is better. I mean come on if you don't like the game don't say bad things about it just to get people mad. Also if you love the game you should not say things like people who own a x box are just saying bad things because they want it. For all you know it is not true.     Not to bust your bubble misterstatus, but last time i checked Killzone2 (as for MGS4) is way over the 20gb range....how do you think a 360 can cope with that?...i have both systems btw but really do feel the 360s time is almost over...in a matter of months...not years...the difference betwean a broadband digital cd and a digital versatile disc will be huge...just think how much hd has become important....wich makes me think...Why the F&^% didn't MS dut HDDVD as standard and use it to make games also????? why????

    Wish I could get this for my Xbox. Seriously, no sarcasm intended. I am mildly an Xbox "Fanboy" but not really. I have never been a fan of PS3 or PS2 but this is a game not a console. I don't like the PS3 itself but it has some BA games.

    rmoorevtps3, I was enjoying your comments and thought you made some good points about the value of a $400 console over a much more expensive gaming PC. But that last line - "The PS3's time as the dominant hardware in the console game has just begun". That's just fanboy nonsense. I own a PS3 and a 360 and could care less which one anyone thinks is better, but I have no trouble believing that Killzone 2 could run just fine on the 360 if it wasn't a PS3 exclusive, and last time I checked, the PS3 was by no means the dominant hardware in the console game. You should try to stick with the facts. When you threw in that marketing hype comment at the end, you lost me.

    @phoenix rebirth buy a FRAG FX controller for the ps3 , better than mouse and keyboard for any type of shooter, by the way just my opinion, is a blasphemy to say that the controller OF ALL THINGS, is better the 360 thatn the ps3's but hey thats democracy

    I liked the first one, I would love to play this one, but I don't have the PS3 because of its excesive price and most of its games don't appeal much to me, so I'll have to wait at least two years, and wait for the console and the games to lower their prices.

    But if the PS3 keeps with this kind of games, i'll start saving to buy it before planned.

    Ok im a gamer period. I learn more towards pc and xbox 360 for shooters though. I just happened to perfer the xbox 360 controller for shooters. Nothing beats a mouse for accuracy though. Anyways I have this game. No question this game is very very good. I wouldn't agree too much with the reviewer in regards to this being possibly one of the best looking FPS shooters ever made but its in no ways an ugly looking game. Controls are good...action gets nuts. Cover makes sense. U can die while ducking behind some flimsy object but u can hold out behind a steel plate for a good while. Like I said...it makes sense. I'm still getting used to using the ps3 controller. Seems odd, but u do get use to it. The AI is pretty good in this game especially on hard. They duck for cover, try to flank a bit, and it takes alotta bullets or one missle, grenade, or two well placed head shots to take some of these dudes down.
    I'm loving the way they implimented the cover system and the way they did the FPS perspective is niceeeeeee. Definate thumbs up there. Anyone into FPS's and owns a PS3 should definately get this game. This is one that should be in your library for a good while.

    well, im a xbox gamer, but i have to say this one looks very good!!! the one thing is wrong , like in 99% of FPS, in the zero environment destruction and interaction.... lovely graphics, lighting, sound, etc, after all, how great to get cover behind a cardboard box, when they re shooting at you with rockets, bullets, grenades, and to survive.... is a miracle!

    Its funny to see all the PS3 haters trying to make this game sound bad with their biased opinions by saying the same old "its just another shooter", and "graphics don't make a good game". To them I say you're just jealous that your not able to play it ;p. I can tell because you keep posting, trying to convince other people that the game is no good and whoever thinks otherwise is not intelligent. Even though game sites all over the web are giving this game excellent reviews. And also personally owning it myself, I can say it's an above average shoot. *I own a ton of shooters*

    I really don't understand some of the BS on gamespot forums, what a bunch of gamer kids talkin pure crap, XBOX is best, no PS3 is best, PC is rubbish. As far as I can see none of you know what the hell you are going on about so I'm going to put it straight. Halo and gears great games for the XBOX. Killzone 2 and LBP great games for the PS3. Halflife, Total War series, BF2142 and a ton of other games great PC games, its all relative preference. If you can afford it, the Best PC whoops any console for tech, but as mentioned, at a cost! I have a PC and Xbox and I'm happy with both but looking at this game, it looks hot, but I aint playing up saying that this and that is better coz I dont know, I haven't played it and I bet most people who say Halo or gears is better haven't either. So grow up brats!!!

    rholding2000 i think your just overdoing it. its not what GS is claiming it to be? First people complain they give everything to low of a grade now its to high? Oh gears is better you say? Yeah its a kickass game but its not the best of all time. ive beaten the sencond one. It doesnt blow killzone out of the water. This game is nothing new? IF you look into it killzone did contribute to FPS's Quake is good. But it wasnt all that special either. Ive spent a few hours playing it and its not like thats better in everyway. Is it good? Yes but way better? No. As for saying halo 3 is better? Look i love halo and all, But halo can be overated. And killzone 2 is deffinitly better than Halo3. Lets be honest now.

    rmoorevtps3 is right, pc gaming plain sucks now just... what's the point in having to upgrade your pc every month cuz newer games wont run with your current hardware? that's why consoles are so good... you buy them and never have to worry about whether or not you'll be able to play the new game you just bought or about tweaking the settings or errors and stuff.. its just turning your console on and playing

    to the rholding2000 first you say gamespot is bad at reviewing and you say halo is better.
    Halo got a higher score.
    second you say gs is biased against ps3 and then say that this game is not as good as gs says it is
    third you like gears but not this game because you handle "a little slow" in gears you handle like a broken tank.

    Ok the game is alright, its certainly not what GS are claiming it to be. I do detect that GS are really bais against the PS3. Gears, deadspace and halo are all better than this game . . hell even warhawk has some great moments when you get the controls down. Not really sure about this review, just sounds forced. The game is ok but just not as good as the review makes out. The Controls ARE heavy and DO seem a little slow. There is hardly ANY story, the set play bits ARE tacked on, online can be frustrating and a miss fest for a while and there are some serious balance issues with the weapons. Technical achievement?. .Yes this game looks great but Gears looks better. Halo in its own style looks, plays a feels better. Ill say again if anyone reads my reviews and recognises this account, im not a fan boy of any system, i have em all. Im a hardcore gamer but this site ups the PS system just too much for my liking and games that ARE a 7, get boosted on this system. 10 / 10 for GTA and MGS.... WTF?. You are saying that these games are totally perfect its a bit of a joke really. Anyway, my opinion is this game is worth getting for sure but you WILL be left a little bit . . meh. Saying this game dwarfs other FPS on this system is a bit of a mute comment cos what have we got? .. yeah mediocre choices. God. Sick of having to wait for good releases. This is just going to have to do.

    The Cell isn't just some ordinary beefed up CPU, it has 6 superfast cores called SPUs that can be used when running games. These are all told what to do by the PPU. The Cells designed use for the PS3 is to use the SPU's to do a lot of work that is done on GPU's in PC's. Developing games for consoles is all about efficient coding. Consoles are not PCs so quit comparing them! Consoles are all about learning the hardware and improving by doing more efficient coding and getting around the bottlenecks in the hardware. PC's are all about getting the beefiest RAM and GPU/CPU you can get, because they aren't efficient and aren't just for games (for example, you'll be running Windows in the background while playing games on the PC). The PS3 is the best technology and performance you could ever dream of getting for $400, and you never have to worry about upgrading it or how a game will run on it. The best graphics card out now is over $400 dollars within itself, how can you honestly compare that to the value you get with a PS3? Guerrilla Games has already stated they will be able to get much more out of the PS3 for Killzone 3. The PS3's time as the dominant hardware in the console game has just begun.

    And you can tell who the Sony fans are. They're the ones trying to discredit the opinion of anyone who doesn't worship this game by calling them an xbot.

    haha, you can tell who the xbots are on this page, they are the ones who say that this is just another shooter. What was Gears 2? It was Gears 1.5 yet nobody was saying it was just another shooter. Same with Halo 3.

    I haven't bought it yet, but by the demo, it seems like a very nice game... The only problem at the beggining, was the button layout, becouse I'm used to CoD's, but later on I changed it to "Alternative 2" - it's almost the same as CoD's -0

    Please not get into the "power' of the systems, because it has very little to do with the amount of systems consumsers will buy. In fact this gen is a perfect example of it. The Wii is inferior to the x360 and PS3, and outsells both. PS3 is suppose to be superior the x360 and the Wii, and yet is in last place. I believe games sell systems more than power does.
