Cutting-Edge Hematology/Oncology Opportunity at the Food and Drug Administration

The Food and Drug Administration, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Office of Oncology Drug Products is recruiting Medical Oncologists to serve in the dynamic, highly challenging, and innovative atmosphere of oncology drug development and research. Our physicians provide scientific and regulatory guidance to industry and academic sponsors through all phases of drug development, including the review of preclinical scientific findings, clinical trial designs, and overall clinical drug development programs.

Our work involves cutting-edge biotechnology-based therapies for malignant disease including:

Signal Transduction Inhibitors Immune Response Modifiers
Monoclonal Antibodies Anti-Sense Oligonucleotides
Anti-Angiogenic Agents Chemoprevention Agents
Novel Cytotoxic Agents Immunoconjugates
Growth Factors Cytokines

We work with multidisciplinary scientific teams that include basic scientists, pharmacologists, toxicologists and statisticians. We interact closely with the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, individual investigators, academia, and other government agencies. Professional training in all aspects of FDA regulatory activities and drug development provided, as well as pportunities for participation in scientific conferences and professional meetings. Up to one day per week for clinical work or research possible. Flex-time and Flexi-place is available.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada approved by a recognized accredited body in the year of the applicant’s graduation. Graduates of foreign medical schools must be certified by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Desirable experience: BC/BE in oncology. Candidates for Civil Service or U.S. Commissioned Corps must be U.S. citizens. Permanent U.S. residents may apply for staff fellowship appointments.
