A senior police officer in St. Petersburg has reportedly resigned after Internet footage was posted allegedly showing him drunk, starting a scandal in a restaurant and then catches him confusing his table for a latrine.

According to Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid, the head of the police department of a district in St. Petersburg has been caught up in what has become an ugly scandal. Colonel Vladimir Kuretzu allegedly became drunk while dining in a Japanese restaurant located near his office. Witnesses said he started waving his hands and became so noisy that other restaurant patrons complained.

The Fontanka.ru news website says the officer was then overwhelmed with rage, threatened to ‘arrest everyone’, then unzipped his pants and urinated onto the table he was dining at.

The whole episode was caught on video by one of the customers and later posted on the internet. The quality of the footage makes identifying the main actor difficult and leaves opportunities for different interpretation.

After the alleged contaminative act, witnesses said the hell-bender went into the street and tried to enter a car that didn’t belong to him. When he could not open the door, the police official reportedly kicked and punched the defenseless auto several times.

The city’s TV Channel Five later asked restaurant employees and its owner to comment on the incident, but they declined.

Komsomolskaya Pravda said Kuretzu has resigned since the scandalous events, which took place last week. Officials declined to comment about the incident.

The tabloid claims it was not the first ‘drinking-pissing’ incident the supposedly former officer has been involved in.
