The editorial submission
deadline for all issues of Playthings,
except for the February Toy Fair issue, is the 1st of the month prior to the issue's release. (Ex: April 1 for

Departments
Playthings' monthly
department pages (i.e. 'Upfront') include coverage of toy industry trends
and exclusive interviews with particularly timely/newsworthy companies and
individuals spanning the children's entertainment businesses. In addition, we
run ongoing product coverage of niche areas of the market on an ongoing basis,
including:
• Children's Books ('Upfront: Bookshelf')
• Audio, DVDs
and Video Games ('Upfront: Multimedia')
We are
also interested in story ideas in areas such as:
• Retailing/merchandising
tips and success stories ('Upfront: Retail')
• Opinion pieces from industry members on important issues
('Upfront: At Issue')
• 'How to' stories designed to
improve any area of the toy business (Upfront: 'Minding Your Business')
• Licensing and
new properties of note. ('Upfront: Licensing')
If you have a story idea, or if you are a toy, hobby or children's entertainment industry professional who would like to contribute a bylined article to our magazine, contact Cliff Annicelli (cannicelli@reedbusiness.com), Playthings' editor, to discuss your idea.
