Smash Hits
Review of Super Smash Brothers (N64) by scream4bruce

Advantages: Original and simple fighting system, unique levels for battle, multiplayer!
Disadvantages: Computer A.I. could be better, graphically rather average

*A review of Super Smash Bros. for N64.* An original fighting game where famous Nintendo and Hal Laboratory characters do battle! Mix it with Mario, fight as Fox, or pick Pikachu - but don't lose it with Luigi! When a character takes damage, instead of having a health bar decrease as in traditional fighting games, a percentage stat - which indicates the likeliness of being knocked out of the stage - increases. The game has weapon-use thrown in ...
...numbers - multi-player is where Super Smash Bros. comes into it's own. It was a reason why I wanted a Nintendo 64 so bad many summers ago. I admit that I am not much of a fighting game fan but I like playing this title. The game is fairly simple to play with a basic paper-rock-scissors mechanism in place, but having four characters doing battle works wonders. ... Read review

Just You Wait 'Til Banjo Tooie!
Review of Banjo Tooie (N64) by benraiben

Advantages: Slighty Updated Graphics/ Bigger Levels/ Lots Of Fun
Disadvantages: Slight slow down/ Home to a out-dated console/ Back Tracking

Banjo Kazooie fans after putting their heart and soul in to acquiring every single golden jigsaw piece in 'Banjo Kazooie' were rewarded with a special ending sequence after the completion of the game, and were informed that a sequel, jokingly called 'Banjo Tooie' would released. The wait for this sequel lasted from 1998 until 2001, and many fans of the original were very eager to grab this game for two reasons. One, it was a sequel to 'Banjo Kazooie', ...
...stars of the game are Banjo the yellow shorts and blue rucksack wearing honey bear. His insulting friend, a rare type of breegull named 'Kazooie' resides in Banjo's rucksack, spitting out her sarcastic comments to other less fortunate characters which are littered throughout of the game. Following on from the original game, in which at the finale the evil green skinned warty witch, Gruntilda, was defeated by Banjo, she fell from atop of her lair ... Read review

A great game, you'll be addicted
Review of Diddy Kong Racing (N64) by Graham_D

Advantages: Fast paced, great graphics, nice music, takes a long time to finish
Disadvantages: None really!

Wow, what can I say? I dug my N64 out of the cupboard a few weeks ago and decided to play this game, thinking it would just pass the time. I was soon addicted and playing daily! It's amazing to think you have a 1997 game that is still great today. The object of the game is to defeat WizPig, an evil tyrant who challenges you to a race. Well, here's my review! **** The Game Itself **** Pipsy,Bumper, Tiptup, Timber, Conker, Krunch, and Banjo are the ...
...Dino Domain, Shebet island, Dragon Forest and Future Fun Land. Each of these levels has four great races plus one multiplayer battle game. Every one of them different in some way. I won't go on and describe each and every level, but my personal favourite levels are "Spaceport Alpha", "Crescent Island", "Snowflake Mountain" and "Windmill Plains". You can often choose between cars, hovercraft and planes, cars being my favourite. As for weapons, you ... Read review

A good fun game
Review of Snowboard Kids (N64) by meri24

Advantages: courses, ranging difficulty, good fun
Disadvantages: a bit repetitve

Snowboard Kids for the N64 is suprisingly good fun. There are a choice od characters to choose from, each with different strengths and weaknesses, this is also the case with a choice of 3 boards. There are 8 different courses increasing in difficulty, however there are extras that are revealed once you achieve a certain amount of wins and prize money. It is not just a simple case of being faster either as there are various extras that can be bought ...
...you go faster, become invisible and knock over opponents in front of you. Single player is not as challenging as many games and while being good fun it could easily get a bit repetitve, however there is also the multi player option that has brought a lot of fun into my evening when I have had friends round. The music is quite jarring, but that can be muted, and the graphics are excellent. ... Read review
