2008 The Signal - Cast & Crew Interviews
Anessa Ramsey

It’s New Year’s Eve in the city of Terminus and chaos is this year’s resolution. All forms of communication have been jammed by an enigmatic transmission that preys on fear and desire driving everyone in the city to murder and madness. In a place once marked by conformity but now sent into complete anarchy, the rebellious Ben must save the woman he loves from the bedlam in the streets as well as her crazed sadistic husband. But the only way he can tell who to trust or who has given in to violence is by uncovering the true nature of The Signal. Told in three parts from three unique perspectives by three visionary directors, The Signal was originally conceived as an experimental film project called Exquisite Corpse where one filmmaker would begin a story then hand it off to another filmmaker to continue and then to another and so on until the movie was complete. The story eventually took shape and evolved into a scifi/ horror/thriller that imagines a world where everyday anxieties become the catalyst for inhuman terror. The Signal is a horrific journey towards discovering that the most brutal monster might actually be within all of us.

2008 Charlie Bartlett Trailer
Anton Yelchin, Robert Downey Jr, Kat Dennings

An irreverent teen hero with a wry view of the adult world, an unsinkable belief in the power of youth and an outrageous scheme to ensure his perpetual popularity, CHARLIE BARTLETT quickly drew passionate fans in Hollywood. Among those fans was leading comedy director and producer Jay Roach, who in turn sent the script to his friend Jon Poll, the talented editor who helped create the pace and comedy of Roach’s hit “Meet The Parents” and “Austin Powers” series, and a man now on his own quest to find a project for his directorial debut. For Poll, CHARLIE BARTLETT was love at first read. “I’d read a hundred scripts in the last year, just waiting to find one I really liked, and this was it,” recalls Poll. “I laughed out loud as well as felt challenged, entertained, surprised and moved. Here was a high school movie about real people and real issues with lots of humor as well as pathos. Charlie Bartlett was such a great character, someone who could overcome nearly anything with his guileless optimism, and that was really appealing.” The character of Charlie was born in the imagination of rising young screenwriter Gustin Nash, who was making ends meet by working at a camera store in the Burbank Mall at the time he started writing the screenplay. It was there, among the cliques hanging out at the mall, from the super-cool to the outcast, that Nash first started thinking about the wide disparity between raw truth of the teenagers he saw everyday and the far slicker, simplified kinds of kids he saw depicted at the movies. It was a situation he wanted to rectify.

2007 Sex and Breakfast - Exclusive Clip
Eliza Dushku, Macaulay Culkin

The provocative and thought-provoking SEX AND BREAKFAST intertwines the lives of two young couples that experiment with anonymous group sex as a way to revitalize their troubled relationships. Through the experience they are forced to rethink the rudiments of a successful relationship: sex, love, and communication. Meet James (Macaulay Culkin) and Heather (Alexis Dziena). Their relationship isn’t working. A cold distance has grown between them and their intimate moments feel forced. Heather is a take-charge problem solver who sometimes gets too carried away for her own good. She’s determined to make her relationship with James work, even if it means being overbearing or making questionable decisions. James has recently started to discover that he’s easily manipulated. He can’t remember if this is the way he’s always been, but he’s going to do something about it in this relationship, that’s for damn sure. Meet Ellis (Kuno Becker) and Renee (Eliza Dushku). Their relationship isn’t working. The spark of passion they once felt has started to fade and both are fearful that this could mark the beginning of the end. Renee is thoughtful and honest, but recently she’s found herself feeling slightly isolated and bored with Ellis. At times Ellis comes off as brash or thick with machismo, but he’s essentially a sensitive guy whose primary concern is ensuring that he and Renee remain loyal to each other through what seems to be a turbulent phase in their relationship. Tension grows when Dr. Wellbridge (Joanna MIles) offers her experimental treatment to rekindle the cooling relationships. On the doctor’s orders, the couples embark on a partner swap that leaves some thrilled and others thwarted. After a series of mishaps fueled by jeolousy, confusion, and insecurities, they soon find that true love and lasting relationships are ultimately about more than sex and breakfast.
