The Comics We Want to See on Television

by Scott Harris

By this time it's become obvious to everyone where the future of entertainment is headed: straight into a buttock-gripping black jumpsuit. Yep, superheroes and comic books are ascendant in both film and television.

For some of you, no doubt, this comes as sad news, so we have a bit of friendly advice for you: you've misclicked, this isn't the Good Housekeeping website. For all the rest of you red blooded Americans, there's nothing better than watching someone fire lasers into an attacking robot, hopefully while shouting a catchy battlecry. It's like having Substance D injected right into your cerebrum.

Indeed, the only problem is that the networks and studios don't always seem to know what they're doing with these comic properties. Sure, anyone can make a comic book show, but not everyone can make a good one. An Aquaman pilot was funny when it was an Entourage joke, but not so funny when someone actually tried to film it.

With that in mind, then, we've decided to help the studios out by pointing them in the right direction. After all, for every Aquaman there's a Smallville waiting to be discovered. Without further ado, then, here's out list of the Top Eleven Comics We Want to See on TV.
