Funniest Sketch Comedy Characters

From the first utterance of "You bet your sweet bippy!" on Rowan & Martin's Laugh In to Dave Chappelle's now legendary take on Rick James, sketch comedy has not only been a source of constant humor, but also managed to shape our collective consciousness. After all, when you have Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger quoting SNL's "Hans and Franz" (calling Democrats "economic girly men") or the fact that it's nearly impossible to hear Haddaway's "What is Love" without nodding your head repeatedly to the side, it's clear that sketch comedy has a hold on us all.

However, while there are clearly popular sketch characters that have come and gone - like Wayne and Garth, the Church Lady and Homey the Clown - are they actually the funniest? We at UGO delved deep into our sketch comedy files and tried to figure out which recurring characters were indeed the most side-splitting, laugh-until-you-cry characters to come along.
