Narnia World

Narnia World

From 1950 to 1956, C.S. Lewis had seven novels published that have since come to be known as The Chronicles of Narnia. Judging from the invective flying around the Internet regarding the series - in its original incarnation, as well as the dramatizations that have been done previously, and especially as regards the giant new film version of one of the books - the above sentence seems to be about the only safe and objective thing to say about Narnia that will not provoke emails full of anger, snide retorts, petulant defense or fanboy pickiness. So anything we say about any of the versions of Narnia will be, we are aware, subject to extreme scrutiny by someone out there, as well as angry disagreement, and, possibly, vituperative reply. If so, and you're the potential vituperative replier out there, sorry, this is how we see it. That said, for those of you who have no familiarity with any of the previous incarnations of Narnia, we'll do our best to provide a fair overview of C.S. Lewis's beloved fantasy series in all its various versions to date.

And there's no better time than now to get into it. The big budget movie # 2 Prince Caspian hits theaters May 16 and the Blu-ray version of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe hits the streets May 13.
