Based on the popular book series of the same name, this drama gives viewers a peek into the world of privileged teenagers on an elite private school in New York City. The story is written by The O.C.'s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, and directed by Mark Piznarski who has worked on series like Everwood and Veronica Mars.

Surface's Leighton Meester and Accepted's Blake Lively have taken the lead roles in this drama series. They will play Blair and Serena respectively, rich Manhattan rivals at a private school in New York. The last additions to this new CW drama are Misconceptions Taylor Momsen, The Covenant's Chace Crawford and The Bedford Diaries's Penn Badgley. Their characters are Momsen as Jenny a 14 year-old and shy girl, Nate the good looking boyfriend of Blair, and Dan the secret admirer of Serena.

E-Ring's Kelly Rutherford and The Jury's has been cast as the mother of lead role Serena. Rutherford will play the mother of Serena van der Woodsen (Lively's character), a former ballerina and rock groupie. Afterlife's Ed Westwick has been cast as Chuck Bass and Brothers and Sisters' Matthew Settle has been cast as Jenny and Dan's father, Rufus Humphrey. Nate and Vanessa try to help Chuck fill in the missing pieces of his night. Meanwhile Dan and Serena try to keep their relantionship together as Rufus and Lily grow even closer.

Who wouldnt love a show about super wealthy teenagers?

The upper east siders are just great, from the ex-bad girl, to the actual bad girl, and girls on their way to be very bad. And the guys? Gorgeous! I cant have enough fun with Charles "the motherchucker" Bass, I must say is my favorite character, he's bad and not affraid to admit it.

Serena and Blair show us what friendship really is, they go on and off but in the end they're always there for each other.

Nate, the hot guy is the fine example on how to look up when life goes very wrong, I must say that is great for young people today.

Anyway, the characters make us stay in front of the TV just to know what new trouble they're in.

I hope this show go on for many years cause its worth it.

This show is awesome! Once you start you just keep on watching non-stop!! Anyone would dream to be Blair, Serena, Dan, Chuck, or Nate, being rich and being able to do whatever you want, whenever you want. That's what keeps me hooked on. And on top of that, their lives are so interesting and have so much drama that you cannot stop watching this show. You know that Upper-East Side kids are are rich, bratty, spoiled, but with everything that goes wrong in their lives, this show is always interesting and you don't want to miss a single episode! You cannot get enough of Gossip Girl!

I couldnt decide whether i should be happy for Dan or not.cuz the things growing up with Rachel and going down against Serena, those are too much at the same time..

BTW Chuck is going directly in to trouble or what such thing was in Bart?A secret society or sth?

I dont know if i could wait for the next episode but with the fact that Rachel is turning back to Constance and Serena is not totaly ok with the breaking up issue with Dan next episode is going to rock...

Dan&Serena; couple always seemed cute and lovely to me and I realy wanted them to get back together but the things have rally changed for the parts.Serena always been the guilty and she wasnt a true innocent in the past but the thing Dan did this time put him in a really guilty position and this time "we were not together" spam wont work...

Finally i wanna ask sth.Whats the name of the rock song in the final scene?

The Mozart metaphors in this episode were genius. It added to the natural drama and sophistication of the show. The almost rape of Lily was unexpected and, might I add, very well played by the writing staff. They did this with utter perfection. Watching this episode gave me goosebumps. Serena's story line this week was more Salieri than Mozart and because Blair is usually the Salieri to Serena's Mozart, this change was interesting. I was both excited and sad that Blair would act so childish especially since it's just when you think she's starting to grow up, too. Chuck was hilarious with is list of ways to get Jack fired. His character has gotten so many layers since his dad died. It makes for emotional and intense story lines for him, which is good. As for Nate and Vanessa... Before this episode I temporarily forgot they were people. Sorry N and V!

Call me superficial but I'd have to say, this episode showed exactly why i keep watching this show! I LOVED THIS EPISODE! The drama, scandal, lust, and everything, it was all crazy. IT was awesome! haha sorry bout me raving about this episode but seriously, while i was watching it, i was almost always at the edge of my seat (LITERALLY!). Either because i want to push the fast forward button, shake the computer to make sense in everything that's happening or simply because i want to start jumping up and down. From this mystery group of Bart Bass and whatever happened to Elle, to this Serena-once-again-break-up-with-Dan thing and Ms. Carr-Dan relationship, it was really well written! two thumbs up for the writers! ;) Looking forward to more scandalous, dramatic episodes!
