That's why the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene wants to make it simple. TAKE CARE NEW YORK consists of 10 steps people can take now to live longer, healthier lives.

The following are Take Care New York Action Steps to improve your health, with specific things you can do, along with Additional Resources to help you follow through. We've concentrated on 10 core health issues that have the biggest impact on your health. If all of us took just some of these steps, we could prevent thousands of deaths and hundreds of thousands of illnesses and disabilities each year.
