Here are some Japanese terms & phrases that are greatly associated with the series. I have a little knowledge myself, but please check it out. Arataka - "Wild falcon?", name of the Shinguji family sword.

Asakusa - popular district in Tokyo, the Hanagumi enjoy going to the amusement park and festivals

Baragumi - "rosegroup", division of the teikoku Kagekidan in charge of protecting the majinki and assisting the other divisions; leader= Kotone

Butai - 1. "stage", 2. "army"

Chuui - "lieutenant",

Chuujou - "lieutenant general", Yoneda's rank
Fukushihainin - "vice-stage manager", Kaede's position at the theater

Fukushirei - "vice-commander", Kaede's title

ganbatte - "do your best"

Ginza - where the theater is

hai - "yes"

Hakushaku - "count", Hanakoji's title. he is a member of the "Wisemen council" and also the founding father of the Teikoku Kagekidan

Hanagumi - "flowergroup"

Hanayashiki - subdivision of the hanagumi, where research and innovation takes place; located in Asakusa

Hoshigumi - "stargroup", European koubu army now disbanded. exLeader=Rachette Altair, Orihime & Reni were members

Kagekidan - 1. "music group" 2. "army"

kansai - the southern region of Japan, where kohran picked up a distinct dialect

kazegumi - "windgroup", division of the teikoku kagekidan in charge of hanagumi's transportation and assistance

kouma sensou - "the first demon war" (of the Taisho era?), 1918

mogiri - "ticketclipper", Oogami's position at the theater

Okinawa - most southern island of Japan. Kirishima's home

Sendai - hometown of the Shinguji family; also known military fort located there

Shihainin - "stage manager", Yoneda's position at the theater

shikari nasai - "hang on"

Shirei - "commander", Yoneda's title

Shoui - "sublieutenant", Oogami's rank in ST1 and ST2

Shousa - "major" , Yamaguji Shinnosuke's rank

Taicho - "leader", Oogami's title

Taisa - "colonel", Shinguji Kazuma's rank

Tanabata - festival in Japan to celebrate the myth meeting between lovers across the celestial river, seventh day of the seventh month; also happens to be Orihime's birthday

Teito - "capital"/Tokyo

Tsukigumi - "moongroup", division of the teikoku kagekidan in charge of espionage and civilian protection; leader=Kayama Yuuichi

Yokohama - home of Kanzaki family; a very western influenced town

Yumegumi - "dreamgroup", division of the teikoku kagekidan in charge of exorcism and spiritual rituals (all members appear to be girls/priestesses)
