January 29, 2009 - Iowa metal heads Slipknot are no strangers to the realm of videogames.
The band premiered their 2004 track "Don't Get Close" in MTX Mototrax. The game also included an unreleased instrumental version of "The Heretic Anthem" and their hit "Wait And Bleed."
Elsewhere, the band appeared in digitized form as playable characters in the 2005 release Infected for the PSP. Their songs "Everything Ends", "Eyeless", and "Pulse of the Maggots" were also featured in the game.
Guitar Hero III features their track "Before I Forget".
As can be expected, given their penchant for serious touring, a number of the members of the outfit are hooked on videogames, bringing along their own systems while out on the road and challenging each other to the favorite game du jour.
While it's tough to determine which member is the most game savvy it's #3, percussionist Chris Fehn, who reached out to us with the desire to share his all-time favorite games.
Fehn is no noob when it comes to the world of videogames, either. "I've been gaming since Atari came out," he reveals. "We never got one, but friends of the family went on vacation and let us borrow theirs, it was the greatest day of my life. After we had to give it back, many of my friends started to get the system, and I just went over to their house and waited my turn."
These days Fehn has graduated to the Xbox 360, which he religiously carries with him on the road.
Here are Fehn's Top 10 favorite games of all time.
10. Phantasy Star II for Sega Genesis
First game with planning, thought and the first time we bought a manual to help guide us through. This is a truly brilliant saga to this day.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for XBox 360
The most obsessed I have ever been over a character. When I contracted Vampirism, I felt like a different man, but I accepted my fate to become Arch-Mage. I have never spent more time on meaningless things that mean so much!
