Nuclear Dawn is a modification for Valve’s Source engine that combines visceral and violent First Person Shooter action with fast-paced Real Time Strategy in the aftermath of an apocalyptic war. You can choose the mission or lead the attack as a commander, marshalling resources and deploying weapons and equipment for your team to use.
You can storm a building as an assault trooper, cling to the shadows and rely on your active camouflage as a stealth, or unleash terrible firepower from a powered suit of exo-armor. You have the responsibility and the power to decide the outcome of every engagement. If your opponents are lucky there will be enough of them left to bury.
Although we have been around for a long time, this mod is still in active development, and the development team is breaking its collective back on getting this mod to you as soon as possible. Stay tuned !

It's been a bit quiet lately, but once again we're ready to stir it up a notch with new media and a call for development talent!
Media
The middle render is a new structure, the Resource Station, modeled and skinned by our ever-talented SquirrelyJones. Yes, those are robot arms.
The Grenade Launcher we revealed in a previous newspost is in-game and
working, along with most of the other Nuclear Dawn weaponry.
Recruitment
The Nuclear Dawn team is looking for 1-2 level designers to produce maps for the initial release of the mod.
- Examples of previous work required
- Experience with the Source Engine and game modifications is required
- Expert knowledge of Valve Hammer Editor required
- Ability to create own textures and props is a plus. We've got quite a library of excellent ND assets to choose from as well.
- Experience with SVN and TRAC is a plus.

It would be a real shame if this mod evaporated, so much quality work has been done for it. This could well have been up there in the top 100 upcoming mods, it beats Black Mesa on originality.

If you missed it, the mod has now got access to Steamworks. We cannot guarantee a release at this time, but we will be updating people so keep an eye on our website for an announcement 'soon' (most likely February '09).
