It's good enough to be the "Smash Bros." of the DS, so if there's a core group of fight-game buddies around, it's definitely worth getting. [JPN Import]

Jump Superstars has so much more to it than just fighting. It’s got a unique set-up system with koma deck building and an entire world to adventure through. If there was a must pick up game for the Nintendo DS this is it. [JPN Import]

So if you like the gameplay you’ll have a ton of replay value here. The problem is that this replay value feels and is extremely reliant on repetition. Many of the missions are nearly identical and all the battles are very similar. [JPN Import]

While portable fighters haven’t had the best of luck in the past, the combination of a simple, yet solid game play engine and scores of popular and recognizable characters (if you deal with anything Japanese on a semi-regular basis, you’ll know at least a dozen characters) make Jump Superstars easily the best portable fighter out there. However, the sheer ambition of this game is considerable. Over 150 characters make their presence known on the battlefield, offering different moves and combat styles for the prospective fighting game fan. [JPN Import]

It's hard to envision a handheld fighting game being much better than Jump Superstars. There's tons of content, plenty of depth, and it's also pretty funny. [JPN Import]

Behind the intimidating menu screens lies a truly magnificent beat-'em-up. Jump Superstars is fast, fluid, clearly presented and offers as much depth and challenge as you could want from a fighting game. [NGC Pocket]

Indeed, what ultimately holds the game back is its conservatism: a deep-seated desire to play it safe, whether it’s in terms of graphics, sound, design, or fighting system. [JPN Import]

The game system is actually quite brilliant, but there's no denying the conspicuous rough edges. [Dec 2005, p.88]

Raymond H. gave it a10:
this was a great game that i really enjoyed. from my point of view, it was like a super smash bros melee combined with shonen jump characters and stuffed on the DS. the movements of the characters were nice and smooth and the specials looked great, especially the COMBO SPECIALS, in which 2 diff chars from diff worlds combine attcks to make like an ultimate special move or sumtin. it was so awesome experiencing that for the first time. if u enjoyed super smash bros melee on the gamecube, and have a Nintendo DS, i strongly recommend this game. i may not be as good as SSBM, but itll make u happy!

Bbo M. gave it a10:
This is the best fighting game i've ever played besides SSBM, but that's on gamecube. Put Jump Superstars on GC and it would kill SSBM, The only gripe I have is i want more characters. But i could definitely live w/o them.

Ramaru R. gave it a10:
I played the game on monday with a friend that DS down load, I was playing random people like Bo-Bo, lufy from one piece and Naruto. IT a cool game its like playing super smash bros for the game cube. This would be a good game to play for evey one in America but the thing is that some of the shogun jump characters came to America and the game companys like namco, konami some of the shogun jump characters are with namco or konami and that is why we may not get it here.
