Welcome

Welcome

Welcome to the Education and Family Services web page! We're always striving to improve our services to our families and on these pages you'll find important family and student information along with links to additional resources.

The Education topics are arranged by age and grade to make it easy to find what you're looking for.  I've selected and written about topics I believe may be of interest to families based on years of working with children, families and schools. There is also a link to further reading on each topic.

For the parents of toddlers and young students (pre-school - kindergarten and primary)there is helpful information for you as you choose your child's school, assess his readiness levels and generally engage in the education process.

For the intermediate grades (3-6), issues relating to academic success, standardized and high-stakes testing are discussed.

The secondary grades (middle and high school)section contains discussions of issues such as family and peer relationships, positive choices, and academic pressures.

For the college-bound, there are links to online resources that you will be using as you proceed toward and through the college years. Parents of college-bound students will find this page helpful, too. Eligible students for SOWF scholarships will find helpful information about applying and receiving maximum benefits.

The Family Support pages are for our families as they cope with the death of their loved ones and face life's future.  You will also find resources for help with matters of day-to-day living.

We welcome your comments and if there is a particular topic of interest or question you would like addressed, contact me at anytime.
