What are the guidelines for hosting a fundraising event for SOWF?
The Special Operations Warrior Foundation is very appreciative of its wonderful event coordinators and volunteers.  Your time is limited and planning an event is never as simple as some people may think.  Therefore, we try to make sure our guidelines very simple.
 
 
Our name and logo are copyright-protected.  All that we ask is that your fundraising event and the use of our name and logo are in the best of light.  The Foundation has a simple agreement form we use to authorize the use of our name and logo for your event.
 
The agreement simply states that if you choose to use our name or logo in any of your promotional materials (ie. advertising, banners, flyers, e-news, website, etc) the logo must remain unaltered, and that we must approve the use before your materials are sent into production.  To download the logo use agreement form click here.
 
To request use of our logo or name for use in your event, please email the logo use agreement form to the Events and Communications Manager at P.O. Box 13483, Tampa, FL 33681 or fax it to us at 813-805-0567.  
 
Do I need to get permission to do a fundraising event for SOWF?
You do not need permission to host a fundraising event, however, there are some benefits of letting us know about your event.  The Foundation has a strong e-news network that allows us to reach out to nearly 10,000 supporters nationwide to let them know about upcoming events, and if possible, we'd like to get a representative to your event.  We can also add your event to our calendar.
 
If you want to use our name and/or logo in your promotional materials, there is a simple logo use agreement form that we can send you that authorizes the use of our logo for your event. For a downloadable copy of the logo use agreement form click here.

fundraisingI am interested in running a marathon, 5K Run, adventure race, Iron Man, etc. for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.  What do I need to do?
Thank you for considering the Special Operations Warrior Foundation in your fundraising efforts.  The easiest and most efficient tool we have for fundraising is available to you online.  In a matter of a couple of minutes, you have a personal fundraising page that describes your efforts.  The basic information about the Warrior Foundation is already there.  You can send your page information to your friends, family, colleagues through email, social networks, and word of mouth and ask for support.  We can even list your event on our website and help promote it through our monthly electronic news.
 
Donors can make an easy, secure onine transaction using a credit card and they also receive an email receipt.  You can start by simply clicking on the yellow logo above.  If you would like some brochures or other materials to help promote your fundraising efforts, please contact our office at (813) 805-9400.
 
 
You held a fundraising event for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and need to send the proceeds to the SOWF.  How do we do that?
Thank you for your generous support.  Please send the check (made payable to SOWF) along with a post-event form so we have all of your contact information.   Download and print the Post-Event Form

Additionally, if you can send us the list of supporters, we would like to send them a "thank you" letter.  We'd love to have some photos of your event!  If you have any photos of your event that you would like to share, please include them with your check or email them directly to our Public Relations Director.
