2009 First Round Draft Order

The Detroit Lions will make the first choice of the 2009 National Football League Draft on April 25-26.

The Lions’ choice will be followed by the St. Louis Rams, who have the No. 2 selection, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs at No. 3.

Draft-order ties are resolved by the cumulative record of each team’s opponents. The team with the weaker opponents receives drafting priority.

Within a tied segment, non-playoff clubs are given priority over playoff clubs. Priority of playoff clubs within a tied segment will be based on their advancement in the playoffs, but they will not drop out of their tied segment unless they participate in the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl champion will select 32nd and the runner-up 31st.

Lions are gaureenteed a top 5 draft pick next year so goin on that evaluation you could see the Lions trade down with Crazy Man Al Davis who wants Michael Crabtree badly! At #7 Detroit can still have a great pick which would/could be Malcom Jenkins unless Michael Oher is still available. If Oher is still on the board where Detroit trades ...(more)

Please Jets do not draft a QB.  We do not need one even if Favre go's.  We need a big time playmaker like Crabtree Or beef up our D-Line.

Did you notice that the Titans played the easiest schedule in the NFL the teams they played had the most losses. Explains why they choked in the playoffs.

These teams are in the order of how they finished the year by record, but don't all playoff teams automatically pick in the last 12 spots of the first round. They have the Chargers picking ahead of the Bucs, Pats, and Jets? I could be wrong, but I was pretty sure that was th ...(more)

After this roundabout season the Chargers have clear needs on the team and all their picks. First things first, they absolutely need to resign Darren Sproles to a long contract. Then they need to go out and get a big name defensive back with their first pick. I'd like to se ...(more)

I am not a Lion's fan , but i would hate to see them waste the number 1 pick on no heart Stafford. They need to trade down. A team with no wins needs players, not one player. If they go after one it needs to be Crabtree, Havin, or Moreno.  They need a game breaker. One that can run, catch, and return kicks. They dont need Stafford who has all the tools but no heart.
