Recap
Their Steel Curtain shredded, Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh offense ended a Super Bowl of incredible swings with a final-minute touchdown for a historic victory.

Santonio Holmes made a brilliant 6-yard catch deep in the right corner of the end zone with 35 seconds remaining Sunday, lifting the Steelers to a record-setting sixth Super Bowl win, 27-23 over the Arizona Cardinals.

It was one of the most thrilling finishes to the NFL title game, certainly equaling last year's upset by the New York Giants that ended with Plaxico Burress' TD catch -- with 35 seconds left, too. More...

Judgements
Pittsburgh's defense sprung leaks in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLIII, but let's be honest: The Steelers don't win without what defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau called "the greatest defensive play in Super Bowl history." I'm talking, of course, of James Harrison's 100-yard interception return for a touchdown -- a game-changing act that was lost in the frenzy of the final three minutes. More...

Expert Picks (against the spread)
ExpertPickReason
Harmon: The Cardinals had one interception but gave up too many big plays in the NFC Conference Championship.
Prisco: They are this year's "charmed" team. Plus, it's time for a passing team to win one of these things. They make amends for all those from the past that didn't.
Judge: Steelers have the history, the defense and, most important, the better team.
Madden: The Cardinals should put up enough points to keep it close.
Richard: The Cardinals Cinderella story will come to a crashing end against the Steelers defense. And, I think the Cardinals' run defense cracks here as the Steelers steamroll to a win in a forgettable Super Bowl.

I saw a poll by a CBS expert that was Boldin/Holmes, which is stupid. Thats a gimmie b/c they are alot different and Boldin has been doing it for alot longer. So, both Boldin and Ward are coming off of injuries. Assuming they are both going to be playing at 90%+ (not sure if Ward will be that), who do you take. Boldin's stats are better, but Ward has the intangibles.

Anyone who has watched the Steelers and anyone who has watched Ariz. realize that this is the key to the game. Watching the Philly game, Arizona fans realize how important protecting Warner is. The first half he had all the time in the world and the game got quickly out of hand. The second half, Philly brought the kitchen sink. Even though they sacraficed alot of pass coverage to do it, they go ...(more)

Everyone is talking about the mental fisticuffs between Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner and blitz-happy Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau. But they are overlooking one important point as we get closer to game time: LeBeau probably knows he doesn't need to blitz in order to get pressure on Warner.

If watching tape of the NFC Championship game taught LeBeau anything, it was tha ...(more)

During his annual pre-Super Bowl press conference Roger Goodell hit on a number of wide-ranging topics, from the economy, the collective bargaining agreement and post-concussion syndrome. While he eloquently stated the league's stance on each, he seemed absolutely clueless when it came to the decision to move the Pro Bowl from Hawaii to the site of the Super Bowl one week before the game.

If you'll notice in the video clip attached on the Super Bowl matchup page, Bill Cowher thinks Whisenhunt's Cardinals are going to beat Tomlin's Steelers.   Note that he says 'I think the Cardinals have an excellent chance to win', and Boomer Esiason calls him out later in the segment saying he was shocked Cowher chose the Cards.   Cowher had a chance to equivicate there but ...(more)

As a Steeler fan, obviously biased, I view Ben as one of the best QB's of all time.  He is no Brady or Manning but he wins games and that is what really matters.  In the winning aspect, I view him as the best.  I want to hear arguments!  Who is the best! (at winning).  (also i was born in 1989 and the first NFL game i truly remember was Steelers vs. Cowboys in the super ...(more)

All of us rely on Judge, Prisco, Richard, etc... for some insight into how the contest will come out.  But why? They are barely above 50% on their 'quesstiment', average about 52%.  If you really want some excellent information on who will win, this is what you need to do;

I really think this will be a GREAT SB. I think the Steelers D will be enough to keep the Cardinals in check and the Pitt O will RUN, RUN, and RUN some more and Big Ben will hit a BIG PLAY and then the Steelers will pull it off 24-17.

Whatcha Think ...(more)
