CNET Content Solutions, through a partnership with EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool), a private organization that has a highly recognized certification program for technology manufacturers, is working to increase the awareness of the environmental impact of computer products.

EPEAT is a standalone service available and free to all CNET Content Solutions customers and qualified noncustomers.

The EPEAT certification program focuses on products such as desktops, notebooks and monitors. In fact, many organizations, including the U.S. Federal Government, the Government of Canada, and the State of California, now have purchasing programs that mandate the purchase of EPEAT certified only products.

In conjunction with the EPEAT partnership, DataSource™ has been modified to now have the Environmental Compliance attributes (EPEAT, Energy Star, and Blue Angel) as unique Searchable Attributes. This will enable DataSource customers to create more powerful search functionality for these "green" products in product catalogs.

We have created some eco-friendly marketing resources to assist in promoting Environmental Compliance product information. Available resources include logos, recommended text, and banners to help shoppers find green products.
