Kansas City Star Aaron Barnhart
Goldstein has an engaging yarn on her hands, and she doesn’t get hung up overexplaining things. What really keeps Loving Leah moving along, though, is Lauren Ambrose.

Philadelphia Daily News Ellen Gray
Loving Leah could seem a bit of a cop-out, suggesting that a young Hasidic woman can have her challah and eat it, too. Ambrose, though, is so charming that you might want to just sit back and enjoy the fantasy.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Jim Heinrich
For those willing to make the leap of faith, Ambrose and Kaufman have chemistry, which invites viewers to overlook improbabilities.

Wall Street Journal Dorothy Rabinowitz
Ambrose's the glue that holds this preposterous tale together, and it's an absorbing one.

Entertainment Weekly Leah Greenblatt
There's a sweetness to the two leads that transcends the slightly icky death-as-dating-service premise.

Leah isn't necessarily bad, but if Hallmark truly wanted to abide by that slogan about sending the very best, this one should have been passed over.

Boston Globe Matthew Gilbert
In a squeaky clean Hallmark movie, the plot is just charmless bunk.

New York Post Linda Stasi
In Hallmark's lace-gloved hands, instead of the usual romantic confection, we get rugelach--heaped with so much sugar that one viewing is enough to bring on diabetes.

Stephen Z. gave it a9:
While one could quibble as to whether the two would ever offer and accept the "platonic" arrangement, there is some backstory of missing pieces of life for both that render it not impossible. And once you get beyond this, the ability of each of the leads to bring something wonderful to complete the other makes this a very believable and life-affirming story. It is not just a "chick flick". It is an emotionally uplifting film that appeals to all. The only reason I don't rate it a "10" is that the mother's reactions at the funeral make no sense at all. Otherwise, this requires no greater suspension of disbelief than many classical romantic plays and novels.

Mary D. gave it a9:
I loved the movie. It reminded me of a modern "Ruth and Boas" love story.

Rod R. gave it a10:
This movie was adorable, absorbing, smart, funny and very touching. I absolutely loved it. They should've put it in the movie theaters!!

Stephen M. gave it a10:
Reviewing the reviews and reviewers it is interesting to note that to a person the non Jewish reviewers did not like this movie whilst the Jewish ones did. Can we say to the doubters don't review what you don't understand.
