For all manner of hint, cheat, code, hack, glitch, or easter egg submissions, you will want to be as thorough as possible. The following are the primary reasons code submissions are deleted:

Submission has missing or incomplete information (game title, game system, etc.).
Submission is an obvious fake code or hint.
Submission regurgitates published content.
Submission is not in English (non-English material is sent to the FAQs site instead).

IGN does its best to verify as many submissions as possible, we do not have every game ever made in a secret warehouse solely for codes-testing purposes. Don't forget karma has ways of coming back to get you -- pass off a bad cheat and you might find you get screwed one day because you got duped into taking on a bad code.
