THE AMERICAN HARP SOCIETY
18th NATIONAL COMPETITION (2009)

The American Harp Society is pleased to announce that the 18th American Harp Society National Competition will be held beginning the week of June 28, 2009 at Westminster College, Salt Lake City, Utah.

The competition is open to harpists up to the age of 30 who are national members of the American Harp Society and who are United States citizens or who are citizens of the Americas.

Finalists will be chosen by a recorded preliminary round and will be notified 30 days prior to the start of the competition. Finalists will compete in person.

There will be monetary awards for winners in all divisions of the competition.

INTERMEDIATE I DIVISION

1ST PRIZE - $1000
2ND PRIZE - $750
3RD PRIZE - $500
4TH PRIZE - $200
5TH PRIZE - $100
6TH PRIZE - $100

ADVANCED DIVISION

1ST PRIZE - $1500
2ND PRIZE - $1000
3RD PRIZE - $750
4TH PRIZE - $500
5TH PRIZE - $250
6TH PRIZE - $250

JUNIOR DIVISION

1ST PRIZE - $750
2ND PRIZE - $500
3RD PRIZE - $250
4TH PRIZE - $100
5TH PRIZE - $100
6TH PRIZE - $100

INTERMEDIATE II DIVISION

1ST PRIZE - $1000
2ND PRIZE - $750
3RD PRIZE - $500
4TH PRIZE - $200
5TH PRIZE - $100
6TH PRIZE - $100

YOUNG PROFESSIONAL DIVISION

1ST PRIZE - $2500
In addition, the 1st Prize winner will be awarded AHS Concert Artist status

2ND PRIZE - $1500
3RD PRIZE - $1000
4TH PRIZE - $750
5TH PRIZE - $500
6TH PRIZE - $250

 


A non-refundable entry fee of $40 will be charged in each Division.
All entry forms and CD’s must be received by April 15, 2009
THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS
