More and more business owners are closing down doors. 2007 was handled by a thin thread, and this blow up has hurt everyone.

Small business owners do not know what to do and this article just confirms that everyone must look for alternatives.

Putting a Human Face on the Economic Downturn
I understand completely what you're saying, and I agree with you. It would be a devastating blow to the economy for the automakers to go under. The far reaching repercussions would be unbelievable.
But, I do have a question. I originally agreed with the bailout for some of the banks, lenders, and even AIG. But seeing what they have done with the money they were given, I am highly disgusted. The government?s main purpose for giving the money was to loosen up the tight reins the banks had on lending at the time. They haven't done it. They are hording the money that was supposed to help out the economy and not just fill their bank accounts.
And as for AIG, it's not only shameful that they took their money and then had their company retreat (which they say was already planned, etc.) but then they came back and asked for more money when it became clear that another company retreat was planned. I like to think that the government money wasn't used for these trips, but one would think that since their company was in such trouble, these trips would have been cancelled long ago. In this type of situation, it looks as though they took the money and then flaunted it as though they were laughing at the American public. I know many people that had AIG as their insurer and have switched their policies.
Anyway, my question is - Where do we draw the line? Any major conglomerate can make an impact on jobs and I am all for keeping the jobs at this time, but really, where do we draw the line? Or actually, should I say, where should the Washington-ites draw the line on which companies should or should not get bailed out??

GM's Survival Is Critical to Small Businesses
Contrary to the comments of Fariba Mitchell, I have found Keith Girard's analysis of the McCain and Obama proposals to be well researched and informative. Frankly, Ms. Mitchell's statements appear to have been taken from a list of campaign talking points for Obama bashers. Mr. Girard, keep up the good work!
