Walkthrough

Introduction

First of all, you really don't need this walkthrough. The story is totally consistent – no plot holes, no red herrings. So you can read between the lines and pretty much figure out what is going on just as if you were The Famous Detective. So trust the game and trust your instincts.

Also, the puzzles are all logical and straight forward. You may have to think outside the box to find an object to use as a crowbar, but it won't be an off-the-wall solution like soaking a rope in epoxy to make it stiff. So if you get stuck, it is probably because you haven't picked up the inventory item which you need, not because you don't recognize it.

I have tried to write this as more of a hint-through than a walk-through. Don't scroll down past the General Tips. Then carefully scroll so that you reveal only one line at a time. That way, you won't see more than you want to.

Once you get to a Puzzle, the first line will be a gentle hint. Try to work with just that. You were probably just thinking in the wrong direction and that should set you on the right track to solving it on your own. The next lines will provide more focused hints. By the time you get to the last line, it should be pretty obvious..

General Tips

The first time you enter a new room, walk to its other side. Many of the rooms are larger than the screen and will scroll when you move to expose more of the room.

Examine every hot spot, first with Examine(eye) and then Manipulate(hand). The hot spots are all nice and large. You shouldn't have to play hunt-the-pixel, but there is one place where there are two hot spots right next to each other. Be careful or you might not notice that there are two there.

Re-examine every room after each time you solve a puzzle. The station is constantly changing and any puzzle could be the trigger which changes or adds something.

Pick up everything which isn't nailed down. This walkthrough will assume that you have searched the entire station and have collected everything you can before working on the next puzzle.

You can examine items in your inventory by right-clicking on them.

Walkthrough

This walkthrough is not a substitution for playing the game. You will only get full enjoyment from the game if you play it and try to solve the mysteries for yourself.

The following are all the puzzles you will encounter, in the order you will encounter them. If you get stuck and you have searched everywhere to verify that you have found everything new since the last puzzle, then these hints should nudge you back in the right direction.

The Coffin
This is not a puzzle as much as an introduction to the game engine. Here you can practice clicking on objects to examine and manipulate them. Just re-connect the wires, answer the questions and leave.

Station Power
It's dark and nothing seems to have power to run.
Those scientists are always leaving things in their lab coats.
Solar panels only work when they are pointed at the sun.
Turn on Backup Power for Station Rotation and use Console.

Forest and Trees
After you finish playing with the door in the Crew's Quarters, don't forget the comfy blanket. It is easy to miss.

Enter Medical
You can't get in until you put out the fire.
Maybe a Droid would help. Check out the Droid Control console.
Did you read all the email on the Communications Console?
Did you read the note in the Crew's Quarters?
That note was worded very strangely. Perhaps it was code?
All those capitol letters must mean something.
Purple, White, Green...
Droids work with the keyboard only. Use arrow keys and space bar.

Tanked Body
This part is very linear. There is only one path to follow.
You can try, but you can't break him out of the tank.
You could be flushed from all the effort.
They don't call them control panels for nothing.
But you can break him out of the pipe.
You shouldn't have to axe me how.

Video Tape
Video tapes are not video disks.
If you can only grab one thing, grab it.
Even if an object is in your hand, you control it through your inventory.
Take something and throw it at the video player.

Refrigerator
Just for fun, save your game then leave and return a few times.
Now restore your game and forget I ever suggested that.
Listen to yourself. You make some very good suggestions.
Didn't you leave the table raised?
You might have trouble cutting a real chain that big, but this isn't totally real.

DNA ID
You should now have everything you need to create an ID card.

Analyzer
You need something small to cut the wire.
Yes, that's all it does.

Freezer Man
You can try to help him from your inventory.
But it won't help.
After you tried everything, be sure to take a souvenir when you leave.
The body would like to give you a leg up on winning.
Boy, has that axe been useful.

The Body
The bed in Medical is trying to tell you something.
Something fits well into those depressions.
After all the obvious parts are assembled, can you see what's missing?
It's not done until the head has eyes.

Medical Laser
Not everything on the station uses solar power.
Batteries not included.
Now that it works, do you have anything which needs to be opened?
Something welded shut?
Set the Steel Box down on the Laser Desk.
Then look inside.

Open the Welded Door
We don't have a cutting torch.
We may have to blow it.
Got any explosives?
Set them by the door.
Got anything nice and hot you could send back there?
You just cut through a steel box...
The laser hits the viewer. Any way to bounce it?
Lasers bounce off of mirrors.

Quarantine
Check out what happened to the explosives.
What was that noise?
Go back and check out the Quarantine chamber.
Examine the body and... magic!
Examine the wall and answer the questions.
Try saving the game and then say that you do not want to leave.
Restore game and pretend I never suggested that.

Endings

OK, you have now finished the game. If not, don't read any further until you have.

Really.

Very well, you have seen the ending. You have been told what is going on. Now you know that your actions were being watched and that you were judged by your actions.

You are told that you were judged based on whether you showed compassion or regret. Score was kept and if you scored high, you get the good ending. If you scored low then you are doomed.

You can see your score on the chalkboard. Each mark is a good point. You are given one point for free. You must then earn the rest. There are a maximum of six.

If you think about it, you should be able to identify five places where you had the chance to demonstrate compassion or regret. Think first. If you were paying attention to what Sarah was saying, then you should be able to get it. If you can't figure it out, then here are five hints:

1) You get this one for free. Don't blow it.
2) Do you regret?
3) Did you at least try to free him?
4) Did you at least try to free him?
5) Did you show a little respect?
6) Do you care about the safety of others?

If you need more hints than this, then you should go to the official forum for help.
