You play the game as a cowboy mountain lion (lynx) named Tequila. When you enter the town, called Stinky Town, you are in front of the Saloon. Go in. Talk to the piano player. You can ask him to play something but he'll say he's too thirsty to play.

Go over to the card players.

Talk to them and ask which of them is winning, and then if you can play. After they answer, you'll see an Ace on the floor. Pick up the card (Ace) and use it on the players. They'll end up fighting and killing each other. The undertaker comes to remove the bodies.

Next go to the bartender and ask for a drink. He'll offer you Dragonsbreath. The bartender will fling the glass down the counter and you'll miss it if you don't react quickly. You need to click on the glass as he's releasing it to catch it and it will be in your inventory. Try and offer the drink to the piano player and a fly will come and drink it.

Go back to the bartender and get another drink. Drink the Dragonsbreath. A fly will come and get singed by your breath. He'll land on your nose. He's buzzing at you and is challenging you to a duel. If you do nothing or are too slow, you'll shoot yourself trying to get the fly. When the fly is on your nose, and you see the mouse cursor, put the cursor on the lamp in the background and click on it. The bullet will bounce off the lamp and kill the fly.

Get another drink from the bartender. Give it to the piano player. You can have him play something cheerful, but ask him to play something mellow. When he does, the beautiful Wanda comes down the stairs. She'll tell you to leave her alone for right now. Exit the Saloon.

In front of the Saloon sits Jack the tortoise. Ask about the Sheriff. Ask if he knows anything about a mine. He won't tell you until you get Jack some tobacco for his pipe.

Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen until you can go to Main Street. You'll see all the buildings in town. Move your cursor around and you'll see the names of the buildings. Click on the General Store.

Enter the store. You'll see the lovely Melissa asking the storekeeper, Mr. Mole, for some ingredients on credit. She wants to bake a cake for Timothy and Mr. Mole says he can't give her anymore credit.

As Melissa leaves, she drops her handkerchief. Pick it up. Ask the storekeeper about the girl. When asked, say you want to return her handkerchief. He'll argue with you. Talk to the storekeeper again. Say you want to buy a box of pipe tobacco. Exit the store.

Return to the Saloon and give the pipe tobacco to Jack. Jack will tell you the story of Burt Rockheart's mine. About, how when he finally found gold, the mine collapsed on him and no one else was ever able to find the gold. You are told where this mine is.

Leave the Saloon. Go to Main Street. Find and enter the bank. You'll meet Melissa again. Give her handkerchief back to her. Say you were fascinated by the color of her eyes. You'll be interrupted by the evil Mr. Vyle. Tell him to keep away from the girl. You’ll find that Mr. Vyle holds the mortgage on her property and that he's going to foreclose in one week unless she'd marry him. She won't and after Tequila has words with him Mr. Vyle leaves. Melissa gives Tequila a fan in gratitude. You can ask to take her home. Melissa's father is quick to shoot strangers, so Tequila leaves.

You can park your horse in front of the blacksmiths. Go right, from the blacksmiths, and you'll be in front of the Undertaker Shop. Click on the wreathe of flowers. One of the flowers on the wreathe will be a chrysanthemum. Click on it to take the chrysanthemum.

Go to the Saloon. It's a good idea to save the game at this point. You'll offer the chrysanthemum to Wanda. Brutus, a gunfighter, thinks he's the best gunman in town and tells Wanda the boss doesn't like her talking to strangers. He'll show his shooting skills to Tequila. When you can reply to Brutus, choose "Let me teach you." Tequila will flip a coin into the air. Try to get the cursor on it right away and keep clicking on it to shoot it. If you don't do it right you can wait a long time before you can try again. So, just load the game you saved to try again. When you do it right, you will shoot the dollar coin into four 25-cent coins. Brutus will get mad, but Wanda gets him to leave with her.

Go down Main Street to the Blacksmith Shop where Tequila's horse is. Facing the Blacksmith Shop, ride left. At the end of town, move your cursor until you see the mine. Click on the mine. Enter the mine. Tequila will find his old pal, the brown bear Boom-Boom. Boom-boom is mining for gold and he isn't too happy to see Tequila. Click on Boom-boom to talk. Ask him about the beans. Ask him about digging. Boom-boom will get mad and leaves Tequila. You see that Boom-boom had a gold nugget though.

Go back into town, park horse at Blacksmith Shop, and go back to the General Store. Buy some beans. Get your horse and return to the mine.

Enter the mine. Near the entrance is a stone circle. Get the beans from your inventory and hover them around the stone circle until you see the words "cook the beans." When the beans are cooking, use the fan on the beans so that Boom-boom will smell them in the mine and come out. He's suddenly friends with Tequila again as long as Tequila shares the beans. Boom-boom eats them and falls asleep. You can try to take the gold nugget from Boom-boom now but you won't be able to. Exit the mine and return to town.

Park your horse and go to the Joiner's shop. Look at the cart and Take the nail that protrudes above the front wheel. Next go to the Undertaker's Shop. Examine the wagon. The seats are made of cotton. Use the nail on the wagon seats to get some cotton.

Go to the Barber Shop and ask for information. Choose to buy a vial of chloroform. It will cost 25 cents and you will only have the 25-cent coins if you won the shooting contest against Brutus.

Return once more to mine. Select the cotton from your Inventory by left clicking on it and keep the left-mouse button held down. With your other hand, press <CNTRL-I> and the Inventory will appear again. Drag the cotton over the chloroform, let go of the left-mouse button, and move the cotton around the chloroform until the words appear "Use chloroform on cotton". (For me it was just to the right of the cotton). Double left-click on the chloroform when you see those words and you now have the cotton soaked in chloroform. Use the cotton-soaked chloroform on Boom-boom. He'll now sleep deep enough so you can take the gold nugget from Boom-boom.

Ride back to town, park the horse, and go to the bank. Show the gold nugget to the bank teller. He will give you a stack of bills for it. Return to the General Store. Use the money on the mole to settle Melissa's debt. Click on the cake to take it to bring to Melissa for Timothy's birthday.

To get to Melissa's place, as you're facing the Blacksmith Shop, ride to the right, and as you leave town, make a sharp right, riding between the mountains. You'll see a building and when you put your cursor on it, it will say "farm." Left-click on it to go there. When you're in front of the farm, use the cake and move it around the side of the porch until you see the words "Offer the cake" and then left-click. You'll be in the farm, celebrating Timothy's birthday. You'll get a kiss from Melissa for paying her debts. You'll find out that someone is been stealing the sheep from Melissa's father. A thief comes right then but Tequila scares him off and finds a horseshoe that's a clue.

There's a cut scene where Mr. Vyle is speaking to Wanda about his plans and Mr. Vyle asks Brutus to do something about Tequila.

Tequila is shown back at the mine. Enter the mine.

Tequila asks Boom-boom to be partners. After he says "no", Tequila asks him for help against Mr. Vyle. Although he says "no", Brutus and his men show up and capture both Tequila and Boom-boom. They're tied up, put in a mining car, and pushed down the tracks.

As you are riding the car, Boom-boom will tell you which way to steer. You can move your cursor from side to side and see the words "left" and "right" appear. You left-click to choose the direction as soon as Boom-boom says them. Here's the sequence" Go right, twice left and then twice on the right. They crash, and after a cut scene where Tequila plays a joke on Boom-boom. They reach a spot in the mine where they can see again. You should save the game here.

There is a hole in the wall. Click on it to look out. Boom-boom tells Tequila to stay there, guide him with his voice, and he'll go find some digging tools.

For the next part, "right" or "left" means clicking on the far left or the far right of the screen. You'll now see just Boom-boom.  Move right until you see "Mine" then click on it. Next, click on "tunnel" then go right again. You'll see another "tunnel" icon; click on it. Go right. Go right again. Click on "mine". Immediately click on "tunnel". You will see the pick axe. Click on it to take it.

To return to Tequila: Go right, click on "mine", click on "tunnel", go left, click on "tunnel", click on "mine", go left, click on "mine." You'll find Boom-boom is back with Tequila. He's digging to get out but they find gold instead. You'll find that Burt Rockheart is still there, but he no longer cares about the gold. He helps Tequila & Boom-boom find the way out.

Ride back to the Blacksmith Shop. You will have to click on the Blacksmith when he stops hammering to talk to him. When you can talk to him, ask whose horse is out front. He'll tell you it's Brutus's horse who lost a horseshoe.

Go to the Saloon and talk to Wanda. After Tequila asks about if Mr. Vyle has any grazing land, he can tell from her answer that he does. Talk to the bartender. When he asks you if you want a glass of Dragonsbreath answer "no" and you'll get a whole bottle of it.

Leave the Saloon, go to the town, go to the Sheriff and talk to Sherriff. Ask about "The Adam's farm." The Sheriff will say he needs proof.

Go left to the Saddler shop and enter. There are two ropes in this store. Take the smaller rope to the right of the store. When you're told it's two dollars, answer "I don't have two dollars." You'll lie and say it's for Mr. Vyle and get the rope for free.

Get your horse and ride to the right of the screen to the Rattlesnake Ranch. When you get there you have stepped off the horse. Use the bottle of the Dragonsbreath on the horse. He will ride like the wind, getting past the armed men who were guarding Boot Hill.

You'll be in a cemetery there. Lasso the branch on the tree behind you and a cave will open. You'll find all the sheep that were stolen from the Adam's farm. Click on the sheep and you'll find you have many men shooting at you. In this arcade sequence, just aim along the edges of the cave at the silhouettes shooting at you. If you die, the scene starts all over again. When you finally have killed all of them, someone will come up behind you and capture you. Sheriff John arrives to rescue Tequila though. That leads up to the final cut scene where Tequila, Boom-boom and the arrive at Mr. Vile's ranch. Just click on Brutus to start it.
