Rose in a Desert Garden (Jonas Kyratzes (private developer), 2001)
Please read our copyright notice. Click here for a printer-friendly version of this walkthrough. I came across this game listed on a German website. It is free for download (about 6MB) and represents what the developer hopes is a new type of adventure game-the short story adventure game. The game is very short but sacrifices length for quality. The game features static but nicely rendered graphics in a post-apocalyptic world. The game is minimalist with respect to sound and action and relies on text and a vacuum of sound to present a scene of devastation and emptiness. The story, though familiar, is presented in a form that others have suggested is reminiscent of a visual poem. You'll understand when you play it Any adventure fan would be advised to have a look. The game can be downloaded, amongst other places, from the developer's web page: www.progressive-design.cjb.net. The developer is a German-Greek man and it's great to hear he has other projects in then works.
