I came across this game listed on a German website. It is free for download (about 6MB) and represents what the developer hopes is a new type of adventure game-the short story adventure game. The game is very short but sacrifices length for quality. The game features static but nicely rendered graphics in a post-apocalyptic world. The game is minimalist with respect to sound and action and relies on text and a vacuum of sound to present a scene of devastation and emptiness. The story, though familiar, is presented in a form that others have suggested is reminiscent of a visual poem. You'll understand when you play it… Any adventure fan would be advised to have a look. The game can be downloaded, amongst other places, from the developer's web page: www.progressive-design.cjb.net. The developer is a German-Greek man and it's great to hear he has other projects in then works.

Introduction
The game begins in the desert, where you have been wandering hoping to find others who have survived the apocalypse. You are beginning to wonder if you are the only person left alive in the world. You arrive at a building.

Building
Examine the satellite dish. Try to enter the building. Examine the car. Turn right to face a house.

House
Try to enter the house. Turn right to a building site.

Building site
Examine the truck. Go forward. Examine the wheelbarrow, piano, and cactus. Take the cactus. Back away. Turn right. Go forward again into the wasteland. You arrive at a military compound.

Military compound
Examine the satellite dish. Go forward. Try to enter the doors. Examine the computer terminal to the right of the doors. It is an entry system for the nuclear vault. It needs a code to enter. Turn left. Examine the walls. Pick up the card on the ground. Examine it-it's covered in gunk. Use the knife to clean it off. Examine the card again. It reveals the eight digit access code: 12101984.

Return to the computer terminal and enter in the code. The computer greets you as Mrs. Oulaistim and you are granted access to the vault.

Nuclear vault (Level 1: Entry level)
Examine the monitors (dead) and light (Lit! There must be people around!). Turn right. Examine the terminal. Read about the three vault levels. You find you need an access code for Level 2.

Back away. Turn left and go forward. Look at the cola machine. Try to access the elevator-no access. Back up. Examine the chair. Pick up the electronic diary belonging to Rogers. Read all thirteen entries.

Return to the terminal. Most people use the name of a loved one as a password… Type "jodie" (Rogers' newborn daughter). The code is accepted. Take the elevator to Level 2.

Nuclear vault (Level 2: Security and Information level)
Turn immediately left. Look at the monitors. Turn right. Try to enter the next elevator. There must be people on the other side! Turn right. Approach the desks. Look at the computer terminal. Read all topics. When you are asked for a password, type "jodie". The computer prints up the emergency code: "vganda" and the water log code: "54573-580".

Enter the emergency code. The doors are unblocked. Go through the doors to Level 3 to meet the others.

Nuclear vault (Level 3: Quarters and entertainment level)
All has been in vain. There are no survivors. You must continue back into the wilderness in the vain search for others. You have but one hope: that one day you will die and be free of this hell on earth…
