Actually,Sonic had a game on the Sega Master System,but the game was so bad,people don't even remember him. The Genises Version was the one that really got the hedgehog populer.

However, the first Metal Gear game was originally released for the NES. Not all NES games were made by Nintendo. Sure, all of them got Ninty-liscenced, but Konami were the creators. If we go by your logic, Bomberman is Nintendo, Rayman is Atari and Megaman is Miyamoto's creation.
