I've worked on some exciting projects. Contributing at times to ideas that changed the world just a little bit. Not content to stagnate in one comfortable niche, I've applied my talents and creativity in numerous diverse areas. Research, technology, software, business, fine arts, writing, theatre directing, film-making, and education.
In 2001, I started using Flash and ActionScript to develop sophisticated applications. I used to get flamed by irate graphic designers on internet forums. They objected to my subversion of Flash to produce anything other than bloated eye-candy. Later, the expression RIA (Rich Internet Applications) was coined by Macromedia, who also introduced Flex. Then, the upstart Flex guys started claiming that they were the pioneers. Now ActionScript programming, and Flex have entered the mainstream and these skills are in demand.
I haven't been very good at promoting myself. I tend to just get on with it, without blogging about it or drawing too much attention to the process I'm involved in. Meanwhile, it is the bloggers, not necessarily the do-ers, who gain the reputation as pioneers and experts.
So, I've lashed together this web site, and set up a profile on LinkedIn because I'm looking for new opportunities.
