Rochester, MN Teen Takes Back Title Scoring an Amazing 899,703 Points on a Single Track

NEW YORK – (September 4, 2008) – Guinness World Records is pleased to announce that a new bar has been set in the ongoing battle for the Highest Score for a Single Track on Guitar Hero III. With blazing fingers and near flawless rhythm, former record holder Chris Chike has reclaimed his record, scoring 899,703 points on the song ‘Through the Fire and Flames’ on the Xbox 360 version of the game. This score beats the former record of 890,971 points set by Danny Johnson in Dallas, TX on May 17, 2008.

The High Score for a Single Track on Guitar Hero III has been one of the most hotly contested records featured in the Guinness World Records: Gamer’s Edition, with the record changing hands four times since the publishing of the book in March of 2008. The original verified high score was briefly held by Luke Albiges of the United Kingdom whose score of 444,862 points was verified by Guinness World Records staff at an event in London on February 6, 2008. Current record holder Chris Chike shattered that score at the US Gamer’s Edition launch event in New York City, scoring 880,920 points on March 11, 2008. Chris’ score held for just over two months until it was broken by previous record holder Danny Johnson.

Chike’s current record was set in Rochester, MN in accordance with all Guinness World Record guidelines. For information on setting a Guitar Hero III high score record, or any other video game record, please Click Here.
