Friends and fellow gamers, interesting year it’s been.
As we are approaching the end of the year, I’m always forced to look back.
The most memorably part of this year has been the great disappointment of GTA IV.
Yes, it was a game that would have worked great on paper, not in practice.
But there is so much more to it then that.
My collection of games has doubled with the coming of the ps3 (and of course other awesome games).
Big titles from my past, Fallout, Metal Gear Solid, ect have made their appearance.
Contrary to movies, games haven’t lost their idea’s and touch.
And I stand by my words that games will take over to be the primary form of entertainment.
It’s just going to take a while.
And as my collection of games has grown so hard, the 360 was starting to lose it’s appeal.
I mean, I like Gears of War but I’m not a fan or anything, it was just a nice gory game.
And eventually I will pick up GeOW2.
But I wasn’t into the 360 anymore, it just lay there, biting the dust.
That changed around November with the coming of Left4Dead & Fable 2.
LittleBigPlanet is also a good game but it’s more of an big project that you invest lots of time in then a conventional game.
I still have a lot to catch up on the previous year.
(I just got End War), I have to get GeOW2, Far Cry 2 and Mirror’s Edge (if I feel like wasting money).
And I feel the storm is coming with games like Prototype, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, ect still underway.
Yes we won’t be let down here.
What I would like to see/hear more about is:
- I am Alive
- Splinter Cell: Conviction
- Tiberium
- Mass Effect 2
That sort of thing.
These game projects have been frozen, which is a shame.
My prognosis for the whole ‘console war’ is that I think the ps3 will shine.
Games like GOW 3 and Heavy Rain will continue to draw the audience that it had on the ps2.
(Like me and Metal Gear Solid 4)
The xbox360 has less to show for itself.
And I wouldn’t even dare talking about the Wii, it’s a waste of my breath.

The financial crisis doesn’t seem to have any influence on gaming itself.
It’s like cutting the costs on going to the cinema.
Some people (myself included) manage to scoop out the cash for games.
For myself, it’s the urge.
I can’t deny myself the rush of gaming.
Nothing will change in 2009.
Were going for a bigger better market, more healthy then most other businesses.
It all comes down the ultimate statement of them all

personal life in 2008/2009
Personally I can’t complain.
My school, and more important my fascination for law, is only going up.
But as I move deeper into the law of this country, you start to notice it’s flaws.
It isn’t perfect, but it gets the job done.
I’m convinced that the Dutch legal system is better then the American system.
It use to be the other way around, and there are flaws in both, but given the choice, I’m not in favour of contradicting experts and credibility of the experts. (In Holland, all experts are considered to be credible and when two experts contradict, the judge appoints an independent expert who’s results will be considered to be the most valued.)
Also I don’t agree with the Jury system cause a judge can ignore leading questions or remarks which push the line, and ‘normal’ people don’t understand laws or the workings of them
So in America it’s basically a contest of who has the better lawyer then the actual truth.
Stuff like that.
Furthermore my personal life is a bit messed up.
I’m shifting between moods and depressions.
And I had times where I couldn’t be bothered to write a blog down (resulting in many unfinished blogs).
I think that I’m finally picking up the pace and broken pieces.
Sometimes the most complicated issues in life have the most simple solutions.
So it’s working again, and just in the nick of time.
Cause I want to start 2009 with refined power and spirit.
Shed the horrors and sadness that fill me, and blast them away along with fireworks I ignite.
What better time is there to let things go?
About GT, I have to say the following.
The forums are just about ruined.
I didn’t mind the database as much as I hate the new forums.
And I’ve lost the appeal to use it for hours and hours of discussions.
It was released, only half working.
And there is something I dislike about it.
I think it’s the ugliness.
I still love the site Gametrailers.
I love their shows and features.
I love posting blogs.
I just don’t feel like using the forum so active as before.
It is still too short on what's there to say.
But I think I pretty much covered what I needed to say.
And not to late either.
I'm currently on holiday in Disneyland Paris.
And the end of the year is comming.
So more things to write about for you all.
Hollar.
Take Care
