Rhodes scores in Week 16 vs. Jags: Colts RB Joseph Addai was active for Week 16's game but did not get any touches as Dominic Rhodes started the game and got the bulk of the work. Rhodes had trouble on the ground against the stout Jaguars rush defense with just 27 yards on 14 carries but caught six passes for 62 yards and a score. Rhodes took a Peyton Manning 10-yard pass to the house in the 3rd quarter.

Fantasy Analysis

Rhodes has 205 total yards and three touchdowns over the past two games filling in for Addai and has frankly been the better Fantasy player of late, even with Addai healthy. The Colts were resting Addai for the playoffs but needed this game just to clinch a spot, meaning they might just trust Rhodes more right now. You'll have to monitor this situation going into Week 17 against Tennessee but against the Titans excellent rush defense both will likely be No. 2 Fantasy options if healthy and playing. Of course, coach Tony Dungy could choose to rest one or both with the playoffs locked up.

RB Dominic Rhodes had a team-high 27 yards in 14 carries. As a team, Indianapolis had 18 rushes for 32 yards. That's a 1.8-yard average per rushing attempt. The Colts failed to convert on three third-and-one situations, with the running game struggling to make positive yardage. 12/19/2008

Rhodes, who replaced Joseph Addai (shoulder) in the lineup, ran 20 times for 86 yards and two TDs including the winner with 8:39 left in the Colts' 31-21 victory over Detroit on Sunday.

It was a nice effort from Rhodes, but it was the result of fluky circumstances, with Addai out and Indianapolis facing a winless team. These type of numbers can't be expected from him most weeks.
