Kick return average Average number of yards a player gained while returning kickoffs. Kick return yards Total yards a player gained while advancing kickoffs. Kick return TDs Touchdowns scored by a player on the return of kickoffs. Kickoff resulting in a touchback}The number of kicks that land in the end zone or end up rolling into the end zone and are not returned. Longest field goal made The longest yardage of the field goal made. Longest passing play The longest yardage of the completed pass. Longest receiving play The longest yardage of the reception. Longest rushing play The longest yardage of the rushing attempt. Longest kick return The most yards gained on one kickoff return by a player. Longest interception return The most yards gained on one interception return by a defensive player. Longest punt The punt that went the farthest. Longest punt return The most yards gained on one punt return by a player. Net punting yards per punt The total number of punting yards, minus return yardage, divided by the number punts. Offensive fumble recoveries Numbers of fumbles recovered by the offense. Onside kicks Number of times a kicker attempted a 10-yard kick in hopes of being recovered by the kicking team. Onside kicks recovered Number of 10-yard kickoff attempts recovered by the kicking team. Punts When a player kicks the ball to the other team, usually on fourth down. Passing completion percentage The percentage of passes made -- the completion divided by the attempts. Passes deflected When a player on defense knocks down a pass attempt. Passing first downs The number of first downs gotten from passes. Passing touchdowns The number of touchdowns scored from a pass. Punting yards per punt The total number of punting yards, divided by the number punts. Passing yards per attempt The average number of yards gained per pass attempt. Passing yards The total number of yards passed. Passing yards per game The average number of yards passed per games played. Punts downed Punts downed without a return attempt. Penalties Total number of penalties. Yards penalized Total number of yards penalized. Punts resulting in a fair catch The number of punts that ended up being called for a fair catch by the receiving team. Punts downed inside the 20 yard line The number of punts that landed inside the 20-yard line (not going in the end zone). Punts out of bounds Punts that go or land out of bounds. Punts returned Number of punts that were returned by the opposing team; does not include punts downed or those that went out of bounds. Punt return average Average number of yards gained on the return of punts. Punt return TDs Touchdowns scored by a player on the return of punts. Punt return yards Total yards a player gained while advancing punts. Punts resulting in a touchback The number of punts that land in the end zone or end up rolling into the end zone and are not returned. Points scored The total number of points scored by a team or player. Total punting yards Total yards of all punts made by a team. Quarterback rating A statistical formula to determine how good a quarterback is (the NFL one is impossible to figure out, but the college one is simple math. Receptions The total number of catches by a player. Receptions for 20+ yards Number of pass catches that gained 20 or more yards. Receptions for 40+ yards Number of pass catches that gained 40 or more yards. Receiving first downs The number of first downs gotten from passes. Receiving touchdowns The number of touchdowns scored from a pass. Receiving yards The number of yards gained on passes. Receiving yards per game The average number of yards gained per game played. Receiving yards per rception The average number of yards gained per reception. Rushing first downs The total number of first downs achieved by rushing. Rushing attempts When a player carries the ball in an attempt to gain yards by running. (It is a carry that doesn't have to result in positive yards). Rushing attempts per game Total numbers of running plays in a game. Rushes for 20+ yards Number of plays that gained 20 or more yards Rushing touchdowns The total number of touchdowns scored by running the ball. Rushing yards per attempt The average yards gained per rushing attempt. Rushing yards The total number of yards gained by running the ball. Rushing yards per game The number of yards gained on a run divided by the number of games played. Sacks When a player tackles the quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. Sack yards lost Total number of yards lost when the quarterback was sacked by the defense. Solo tackles When a player tackles the offensive player by himself. Safeties scored A safety is when the offensive player is tackled in his own end zone resulting in two points. Takeaways Total number of interceptions and opponents' fumbles recovered. Tackles When a player stops the player with the ball. Time of possession Total time a team had possession of the football. Total plays Total number of offensive plays. Total return TDs Total number of touchdowns scored by returning a kick, punt, blocked field-goal attempt or blocked punt. Total touchdowns The total number of times a player or team scores. Total tackles The total number of times a player or team stops players with the ball. Turnover differential The difference between a team's takeaways and giveaways. Extra point kick attempts The attempt to score 1 point after a touchdown. When the kicker attempts to kick the ball from the 3-yard line. Extra points blocked When an extra point gets blocked by the defense. Extra point kicks made When the kicker makes a 1-point attempt after a touchdown. Yards per game Total number of yards per game. Yards per play The average number of yards per play. |
